How overbooked is John Cena?

Accomplishments in WWE:

3 US Champion
3 Time WWE Champion (JBL, Edge, RVD)
Makes Triple H Submit at WM (Retains WWE Title)
Retains in Elimination Chamber
Is Kafaybe responsible for the firing of Chris Jericho
FU'd the Big Show.
His own movie.
His own rap album.

How fucking over would anyone else be if they put this much time into them?

Actually not to nit pick, he is a 3-time WWE Champion, JBL to Cena to Edge to Cena to RVD to Edge to Cena.

And he is a 3-time United States Champion as well...Big Show to Cena to Booker T to Cena to Carlito to Cena to OJ.

And Cena never won the Rumble, 04 was Benoit, 05 was Batista, and 06 was Mysterio.

And King Booker won Champions of Champions match.

Also, while the movie was a moderate success (in that it actually is projected to gross some) it has been considered a projected failure based on the standard 8% gross that the entertainment feild yeilds. And his rap album made a joke of him, in fact doing his live concert tour they gave away free tickets and could only get about 200 to 300 people per showing. So all those did was highlight his short comings.

But certainly no question about it, overbooked. Quite frankly Cena's WWE reign (especially leading to the movie) has been so Superman'd that it makes Hulk Hogan look moderatly well booked.

Vince has said he doesn't care. John Cena is a smooth and confident talker outside the ring. He looks very good in magazines, on talk shows, and truth be told when he isn't being Superman he can come across as charismatic and charming. That's why the belt is staying on him. So Vince can parade him around on all the media outlets, so Cena can be put on Sexiest Stud lists, radio shows, and autograph signings as WWE Champion.

The great thing is Vince along with his idiotic booking is driving away fans left and right, basically all that's left is the most die hard of die hard wrestling fans, and small children who may or may not think it's real. And since the retarded, small, or emotionally stunted comrpise about 93.7% of the viewing WWE audience, those boos for Cena seem to get smaller and smaller every week. Which in turn means the cheers are coming through crystal clear. One way or another, Vince got the WWE fans to cheer Cena.

Its a case of him going downhill because they tried to put him on top of the hill too soon.
I liked Cena in late 03, I saw some potential in him and a lot of people did. But unfortunately they jumped the gun and pulled the trigger on him so quickly. Then proceeded to shove him down our throats, making him suck more and more. Basically they get a star whos starting to show some potential as a rising-star, and they start talking about how much of a rising star they are, and blow their load and push them to the sky right away.
They did it with Orton, Cena, Batista and they'll do it again.

don't think they jumped the gun on him at all. Just b4 he won the title off JBL he wasjust about the most over worker in the WWE. Whilst I do agree that he has been shoved down our throats way to much, I don't think that Batista or orton were pushed too much, too fast

Orton was pushed to soon. He simply wasn't ready. That one I think is undeniable.

Cena wasn't going to get any more over, the did right. what they didn't do right is what they did with him AFTER he got on top. The superman push was way too much, and it hurt him alot. Be deserved to be where he was.

Batista also deserved to be where he was. His problem is a combination of three things. 1) was the injury. He was over and busting his ass until he got sacked. 2) Is SD!. Yeah. He doesn't want to be there, so he has no motivation to prove. 3) his ego. He thinks he's the top dog on SD! and that no one (save his good buddy The Undertaker,) can elevate him. So if there's nothing in it for him, why try?

I'd consider that a huge set-back.

Hell, wrestling Federline in the main event of WrestleMania would be a huge set-back for Funaki.

I disagree with the "too soon" concept. He was the hottest thing going, easily, and they saw that potential. They then proceded to use him in a way nobody wanted. They made him a babyface. Annoying, too. They made him unbeatable, and only the Undertaker can get away with that and stay face***

Orton wasn't done too soon, he was just turned babyface because people were cheering him. People liked the cocky ass legend killer. They got some love storyline. Batista? Well, they jumped on a face turn and big push, and it worked. The guy's reactions are getting worse because he's not all that good. He's been literally phoning it in.

Also, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, etc...

Cena's going to break the Masterlock (for real--like, JR's going to spazz out and scream about it. It won't be a pussy break like Booker T's).

Cena's going to end Umaga's streak.

And CM Punk's.

And he's going to go back in time and end Samoa Joe's.

And Goldberg's.

In fact, he's going to cheese grate the tattoo off of Goldberg and staple it to his own arm, and do the salute while Goldberg's pyro goes off and Goldberg bleeds out of his arm hole where the tattoo was.

And then Cena's going to fire VINCE MCMAHON, because HE'S JOHN CENA GODDAMMIT HOO RAH CHAIN GANG SOLDIER 4 LIFE.

And then he's gonna PUNCH. MY DOG. IN THE ASS.

AND NO SELL IT WHEN I HAVE HIM ARRESTED FOR IT

Batista also deserved to be where he was. His problem is a combination of three things. 1) was the injury. He was over and busting his ass until he got sacked. 2) Is SD!. Yeah. He doesn't want to be there, so he has no motivation to prove. 3) his ego. He thinks he's the top dog on SD! and that no one (save his good buddy The Undertaker,) can elevate him. So if there's nothing in it for him, why try?

Although I want to point out that Orton's push was done the wrong way. Orton should of stayed heel and HHH should of been baby. It would of been so much easier for Orton to handle.

Ortons push was certainly to soon and poorly executed
As for Cenas, perhaps it shouldnt have been the second main event of the night at wrestlemania 21. In many ways its as if they pushed Batista over Cena, who was way more over. They later tried to ammend this problem by sending Cena to the A-show since they wanted him to be their A-champion.

Yes, he is overbooked, but I think there are a bunch of people who would be much less tolerable in his position.

Imagine Umaga's rap album.

I'm glad Orton failed. Simply because he was a terrible face. He has everything in his armory to be one of the best heels of all-time. He simply is a heel. He looks like one, talks like one. As far as I'm concerned the guy should never ever be a face. However, the idiocy of the WWE to see this and the fact that he's a complete cock backstage all contributed to his failure.

Instead of the way they handled his turn, they should have done it in a way similar to The Rock dumping Farooq from the Nation. But that was back when Trips was the only one in the WWE, and that was never gonna happen.

Cena is horribly overbooked, simply as they have no faith in any other wrestler on Raw. Trips is busy making big bucks on merch with DX so he's happy.

I truely hate post-heel Cena, and it seems to me, as KK said about dancing Dave, that he's phoning it in. They have nothing to really do with him, apart from have him 'wrestle' Federline on NYD. Problem is, I really have no idea where they could possibly go with that, as the Umaga feud will be starting its 3rd month around then, and Nitro appears to be back with MNM for a while.

They need to turn Carlito, have him get Jesus to stab him in a nightclub and be off our screens for a month or so. Again. Please.

He should be happy that he's not still mulling around as reverend Devon's lackey or something of equal suckiness.

Maybe it'd be a big help to the "B show" atmosphere of Smackdown if all of the guys who thought they should have been on the A show quit being bitches about it and started working hard to improve the show they were on.
