Which would've drawn more?

Pick between these two matches. Goldberg vs. Austin or Hogan vs. Austin. Now, obviously Hogan/Austin is a hot topic these days what with them being two of the biggest money-drawing babyfaces of all time during two entirely different eras with two completely different styles with two somewhat different fan bases. It seems like a match a lot of people these days are clamoring for and during wrestling's golden age of the 90s, it might've been fun to see.

But on the flipside, the golden age of the 90s brought in other potential superdraws and Hogan didn't really seem to be the guy everyone wanted to see anymore. Bill Goldberg gained huge popularity and eventually became poised to take the top spot of WCW for good which inevitably led to discussions of a dream match between Goldberg and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

So the question is, which of those matches would've drawn the most? Vote now, yo.

No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes...

...again.

Hogan vs. Austin

No doubt about it. The two biggest names in professional wrestling history. I don't think "Bill Goldberg" is a household name.

Back in 1998 or 1999, Austin/Goldberg. Any other time Austin/Hogan.

Gotta agree with that right there. Goldberg is not nearly as well known as he was 5 years ago either.

There's a possibility that Goldberg/Austin might have outdrawn Hogan/Austin at the peak of Goldberg's popularity, but it's still Hogan. That's a tough call, but I'd say that Hogan/Austin would take it.

Do bare in mind, Hogan's popularity was on a drastic slop downwards as the nWo became more and more stale. By 2000 Hogan was little more than a laughing stock and not a good draw. When he came back to WWE in 2002, he had been away for 2 years, he was fresh in a nostalgia way, and it was his grand return to the WWE after over a deace. Those are the things that made him a draw again. But as time has shown again, people can only watch so many big boots, waving of the finger, and leg drops before he becomes stale again. His last few stints have shown no sign of improved ratings, and short of a "dream" match (such as the one purposed with Austin) he isn't a stand alone draw.

Am I the only one who really has no interest in Austin/Hogan? Seriously... let's say they booked it for Wrestlemania. It's not gonna sell any more tickets than a Wrestlemania would anyway.

Personally I don't want to see Austin ever wrestle another match. His final match with Rock is the perfect way to go out. He didn't win, but he had that incredible moment at the end. Plus it completed the WrestleMania trilogy they had. Hogan/Austin does nothing for me personally, but I can easily see how it would do a lot of Hogan marks and/or people who can confuse who Austin was with who he is now...

When Goldberg and Austin stood face to face in the ring that time on Raw, I realised something. That compared to Austin, Goldberg looked like a pussy. Grunting, growling and snorting never did much for his tough guy image if you ask me.

Anyway, Austin/Hogan would have and still would now draw big. I'm betting Austin/Goldberg wouldn't draw a dime.

For every Hogan/Austin match/segment they have on PPV's now, people like London and Kendrick get left off the card.

Hogan/Austin would be more popular but Bill vs Steve would be the better match.

Stone Cold vs. Goldberg, without a doubt. If we're talking Goldberg during the peak of his popularity, I don't know how anyone could argue otherwise. I got Goldberg merchandise given to me, and I wasn't even a Goldberg fan. The two look so much alike, were the badasses of WWF and WCW respectively, people would have murdered their mothers to get in and see the match.

Hulk Hogan was never really WCW's top guy, or when he was, he sucked the wind out of the place. If you take Austin, Goldberg and Hogan at the peak of their respective careers, you find something. Hogan's legacy is best remembered in the WWE draped in red and yellow (although some tout nWo as a high point, the whole effectiveness of it came from the fact he used to be the industry's top babyface), Goldberg's legacy is best remembered for being the Jackhammer responsible for drilling into the WWE, and even some of Austin's steam. He was like a bigger, badder, more vicious version of Stone Cold.

So yeah, long story short, Hogan vs. Austin is a dream match for the mere fact that they both carried respective eras in the WWF's history, whereas Goldberg vs. Austin would have been the product of then and there. They were products of the same time period, and bearers of the torch within their companies during the same era.

Austin vs. Goldberg back when both men where at their prime would have been huge. Austin vs. Hogan is more theoretical than your average dream match. I guess it's kind of like Bret Hart vs. Kurt Angle, only based on drawing ability and babyface legacies in the WWF, rather than amazing technical skill.
