Why should the WWE give them any free publicity?
Right now they aren't a threat what-so-ever viewer-wise. It's just common sense. Now, if they were at par in the ratings, then it's possible that they'd do it, but that's not for a long, LONG way off. |

With the VKM angle, TNA is pratically begging WWE to acknowledge them. I don't see the WWE taking the bait.

Of course they will.
Heres how I see the situation... TNA is making a push to compete with WWE. They are rapidly investing and making moves to grow as a company and a product, just like WCW. Therefore they can either A) suceed (compete with WWE regardless of outcome) or B) fall flat on their face and fall apart. Once A is reached you basically either fall to B, or go on to be the top dog. So if TNA begins to pose a threat to WWE like WCW did, they will certainly be referenced and combatted against since it is then out in the open. If TNA never manages to compete with WWE, they will only go down seeing as they're on the doorstep now. So either WWE references them in compettition, or they fold and WWE buys the rights to their video library and name. Pay no attention to that if it makes no sense to you. |

I would like to see them use Eugene's character to take suttle jabs at TNA. Simmons could walk in on Eugene in the dressing room watching IMPACT! and holding a "Jeff Jarret" doll.

Well....TNA DID get a mention. Remember when Angle issued the challenge for ONS2 this year? He said he'd take on anyone 4 sided, 6 sided, or 8 sided...gee who could be the 6 sided?

What top names do you think they would be signing? How much money does TNA really have to be throwing around? Their ratings and buyrates are improving of course and aren't exactly "bad"...for them. They don't tour and have limited seats in the impact zone, so they aren't making a killing on live events. Action figures and such can't exactly be flying off shelfs. I doubt their videogame will be in the greatest hits collection for any system, to say the least; but maybe available for the same bargain price.
So one has to wonder where TNA would be getting the money to sign such highly coveted talent. I dont know how much Sting Angle and Nash are pulling down but its probably most of what they have, but guys like Mysterio and RVD who have huge fan followings and have both been world champions in the last year would probably cost TNA a few bucks. And I wouldnt neccesarily say WWE wouldnt have interest in guys like Daniles and Styles at some point, and money talks. It seems to me if TNA is looking to compete they're gonna have to spend a lot of money they don't have and hope that their storybook doesnt end in chapter eleven. |

I'm just saying, their talent pool and product quality will only get them so far in terms of standing up to a massive giant. It takes a lot of money too. Sure WCWs cutting edge storylines and diverse roster helped them draw audiences, but at the end of the day it was the financial backing that brought them up. TNA currently doesnt have that.
It may come as a shock, but talent requires money and wrestlers care a lot about their paychecks. They have to be able to keep the stars they create and continue to steal the stars that already exist. I don't doubt the value of the company's commitment to pure wrestling and such, and the loyalty of guys in the lockeroom and how they'd rather wrestle for quality and not quantity, but look at ECW. Will a guy like AJ Styles stick around in TNA to be a big fish in a small pond? Or will he take a big contract and run the risk of being misused with an outside chance of uppermidcard and potential main event success? Who knows but we've seen it happen before with a guy like Tazz or Benoit. Granted TNA has more money than ECW, but still not Turner-money. I think a lot of times people get so excited about how cool and legitimate TNA is and they're right, but it comes down to financal resources to keep making a push in a business that has become so commercial and monopolized. TNA could steadily climb but how long can they sustain what they have and grow without Mcmahon-like resources? I'm not saying its right, but its just the way it is. And I'm not trying to sound like the logical voice of doom to something so exciting. I hope they get huge and theres another monday night war. I'm only saying this in response to someone said that TNA would continue to sign all of WWEs top talents. |
