Yokozuna

Now, I know Yoko was actually Samoan, but when he came into the WWF, did they bill him as Japanese or was he a sort of defector to Japan?

I'm 90% positive they claimed he was Japanese. 90% though.

I remember this. I read an article about him in WWF Magazine when he came in. Mr. Fuji was visiting one of the islands around Japan and he found Yoko as a terror to the local people, pushing over trees & beating people up Fuji had to civilize him enough where he wouldn't just kill random people (BANZAIIII!!! *SPLAT*), then trained him in Sumo. I wish WWE still did origins like this.

Regarding Yokozuna, I remember a promo being cut by Mr Fuji and him saying (after he beat Hogan for the WWE Title) how they were taking the title back to Japan and Yokozuna was going to stay there
