Spider-Man: The Animated Series on DVD
No, they aren't officially releasing it (as badly as I wish they would).

I know that there are websites where you can order bootlegged copies of the entire series that aired in the late 90's. I'm just wondering if anyone here has ordered these DVDs, where they ordered them from, and how good the quality of the show is. I don't expect top quality or anything, but definitely want them to be watchable.

I have an 4 disc set, I ordered along with the X-Men cartoons, the Quality isn't bad, and is about the same, as they aired back in there hayday, and what they do on Jetix...

I recommend honestly buying them.

I've always seen them on Ebay and have considered buying them, but coz I'm such a huge comic geek I couldn't do with a bootleg.

However, I haven't made any effort to get the seperate dvds with about 4 episodes per disk. I've seen every episode about 4/5 times so it'd only go in my collection if it was an authentic collection of all the episodes.

Same goes for X-Men and all the other cartoons.

What's up with no official box sets for Fox Kids era X-Men and Spider-Man? By comparison; XM: Evolution and MTV's Spider-Man already have their DVD collections out. It's one of those shows that could really benefit from Collection Sets (thinking Power Rangers here).

If they bought out official box sets with every episode, two things would happen:

1. They'd sell extremely well.
2. They wouldn't sell at all coz most people would already have the bootlegs.

Either way, I'd buy it.

Probably the best cartoon ever. I find it disgraceful that 3 of my favorite cartoon series ever (Spiderman, Xmen, Real Ghostbusters) aren't even available on DVD, only a few episodes on overpriced throwaway discs.
