What if this whole Trump angle is leading to...
You know, the tone of last night's segment on RAW gave me an idea. With McMahon adamant about Trump not having more money, being better in any way, not caring about the fans, etc...WHAT IF they set a stipulation for a match at Wrestlemania where McMahon (to piss off the fans) books himself as the Main Event at Mania agains Trump. Trump agrees ONLY IF McMahon agrees to put ECW ownership rights on the line.

During the match, Heyman would then make his return, appearing out of nowhere to interfere and help give Trump the victory. Have Mania end with Trump shaking hands with Heyman in the center of the ring and then signing over full ownership rights to Heyman.

Heyman: "Vince, as NNEEWW owner of ECW...I have two words for your position as creative control...."

Trump: "YYYOOOUUURRREEE FFFIIIRRREEEDDD!!!

Problem is, Trump isn't going to wrestle. It would have to be a "my man vs. your man" type of deal.

In that case, it can go down that it's, say, Van Dam vs. Cena and Heyman then comes out and gets the rights from Trump.

Still works, just an extra step.

Yeah, I was thinking about that option too. The most obvious matchup that had the factor for me is RVD vs. Shane O' Mac in a Ladder Match with the ECW ownership title dangling above the center of the ring....Heyman run in still of course.

The Donald pretty much got the upper hand here. Vince has had some failed business ventures. And hasn't really rebounded in a good while. So he's bound to do something big with this idea in his head.

So I'll pitch this. Vince vs. Donald. Each uses one guy. Vince got his entire roster to find a champion. Make a nice little tournement between the 3 brands. Have a triple threat on the last RAW before mania. Winner fights for Vince. Donald can go and find anybody in the world and bring him in for one night only. Each can be at ringside at the corners. Vince puts up something, Donald puts up something. Winner take all.

Doesn't have to be anything. Bragging rights would suffice.

I don't know if that really makes him a better businessman though. A better businessman wouldn't have spunked as much money on major flop projects as Vince has.

But "The Donald" is known for pissing his money away too, and it has landed him in bankrupcy on a couple occasions. The guy was a bigger joke in the 90s than wrestling is now.

Vinces failures...ECW? Maybe quality wise, but I wouldn't say so. He owns WCW and ECW, thats been pretty big for business. WWE films...certainly not making blockbuster hits but its an interesting endeavor, hasn't been a failure. XFL is the only failure I can think of, and it was certainly a bold risk from the get go.

- ECW has been a fucking horrific failure... for the second time. FAILURE X2

- WCW buy out should have been the biggest angle in pro wrestling history that would have run for years before it got close to being out dated. It lasted about 2 weeks. FAILURE.

- XFL lost over $15 million dollars. FAILURE.

- WBF still around? No? FAILURE

- Has Titan Sports/WWFE/WWE promoted anymore boxing fights since 1988? No? FAILURE.

- Is there record label still around? No? FAILURE

- ICOPRO? FAILURE

- UK only PPV? FAILURE

Has WWE's film division made a fucking penny yet? No? Failure in the making.

He pissed away millions of dollars, nearly went to jail and the WWF was literally months away from going out of business on two separate ocassions from 1992-1997 and WCW was only making money one of those times.

Bottom line. Everything business idea Vince McMahon ventures into outside of pro wrestling turns to shit. And although he is the most sucessful wrestling promoter of all time, some of his decisions that cost the company fucking millions of dollars due to poor booking also leave a lot to be desired.

Yes, however he has managed to bring wrestling into a publicly traded billion dollar corporation. Outside of XFL, I don't really see the other things as failures. Vince almost going to jail when going head to head with Turner? If you're referring to the 1992 steroids scandal that has nothign to do with that. As for the other things that are "failures in the making", we'll see. The purchase of WCW a failure? Why, because the storyline didn't work out well for smarks? It sucked, doesn't mean it was a failure. The purchase of WCW properties and library has been a tremendous success business wise for obvious reasons, if not just for the tape library and the intellectual properties alone.
He doesn't promote boxing fights since 1988, well that would be a HUGE failure considering he wouldn't have any interest in that anymore since from that time on they've grown into a billion dollar corporation.
When has Vince McMahon squandered money away to a point of him being bankrupt?
