Underdogs in TagTeams
There has always been an Alpha male and an Underdog in almost all Tag Teams.
eg. 1. The Dudleyz Brother Babba has been the leader of Team 3d/Dudleyz. He does all the good stuff like ordering d-von to get the tables, that freaky round of punches with that shitty dance and pee stuff. He also has solo finishing manuvers like the Babba Bomb or the Babba Cutter. Whereas D-von has none of them except for 3d. 2. The Hardyz Jeff comes out to be more dominant than Matt. He has amazed all his flying manuvers. He is also remembered for the TLC matches, the whisper in the wind cockscrew moonsaul of the top of the steel cage and the Ladder match with Taker. Matt is remembered for his love relationship with Lita, tapping out to Turkey and losing a singles match at No Mercy against Zach Gowen. 3. Daniels and A.J.Styles Styles is considered to be the favorite because he had also been a former NWA World Champion and was elevated to higher level of superstardom by the TNA management. Personally I admire Daniels. post your list the clay needs to be moulded. |

Why would you count things like how many named moves they have or the number of times they taunt the opponents as reasons for why someone is the dominant tag partner?
Just count the number of hot tags they give. Next you're gonna say that HBK is the dominant member of DX because HHH is injured right now. HBK always gave HHH the hot tag, ever since their reformation. |

Have to agree with tuscon here...you're looking at the wrong things. I think hot tags and who gets the win are better indicators.
Look at The New Age Outlaws for example. Road Dogg always got whooped on and Billy Gunn always got the hot tag. For me that shows that Gunn is "better" than RD (in mark terms anyway). It's pretty much the same across the board. HBK = Whooped on HHH = Hot Tag D-Von = Whooped on Bubba = Hot Tag I'd continue but I can't be bothered. And as a side note... Does the wwe champion realise you can type further than the end of this little box I'm typing in?? |

To the topic starter, sorry man your point was not made. D-Von in the beggining was the the mouth piece for The Dudleys, and he is just as good if not better than Bubba, in the ring.
Your just plain wrong about AJ and Daniels, nobody thinks AJ is better than Daniels. (even marks know to take Daniels more seriously) And Matt has had just as much success in the WWE as Jeff, plain and simple. Bad topic, your wrong, and im being a dick about it. hahaha. |

I agree that there is somewhat a leader in the team, but I think you got it wrong in the The Hardys. Matt has always been put over as the older brother, as the thinker, and the recipient to the hot tag from his weaker little brother.
That's actually part of the reason I'm liking this Deuce N' Domino tag team. Domino is actually surprising me and making me think he's the most dominent, yet I've heard such great things about Deuce Shade. It'll probably be easier for the marks, but I really can't pick who I am meant to see as the stronger of the two characters. |

I THINK X-PAC WAS THE DOMINANET MEMBER OF XPAC AND KANE BECAUSE KANE NEVER TALKED AND WHILE XPAC IS REMEMBERED FOR HIS HIGHFLYING MANHOOVERS THAT EVERYONE LOVES, AND HIS CHAMPIONSHIPS, KANE IS KNOWN FOR BEING UNDERTAKER'S LITTLE BROTHER.

Well you can argue that in most successful tag teams, one member reaches greater heights than the other. I think its fair to say Matt has always lived in Jeffs shadow, and of course you have Shawn/Jannetty. But thats a different thing all together.
the wwe champion, I think I kinda get what your saying but I think your reasons are way off, and you're applying it to be a trend when its really only isolated incidents. Its not like thats really the case at all. What about a team like The Outlaws (as XL said), Road Dogg did all the talking and was probably the bigger star and force behind the team. But BA billy bunn was always built up as the backbone of the team. Same thing with the dudleys. Those 2 teams are evenly split. In any tag team things are pretty evenly split. In cases where one star emerges that really is just indicative of that one person and not the nature of tag team wrestling. Its not like it happens a lot. Most of the time the tag team suffers the same fate when broken up or else continues to work equally together. Thats why the Outlaws and Dudleyz will never surpass their teams as singles wrestlers. Of course you have rare instances like Michaels/Jannetty, but then you have a case like Edge/Christian thats the exact opposite. Everyone, including me, thought that was gonna go the same way. |

If you weren't talking about success and mic use also, I would agree. In matches alone though, there is one guy who usually takes the abuse, and one who gets the hot tag. In a lot of team, those roles are the same over and over again. HBK, Jeff Hardy, Shad, the Highlander that isn't Rory, etc. They usually get their ask kicked at some point, and then make the hot tag.
