I have only listened to the really "big" 4 albums. I rank them like this:
WYWH Dark Side The Wall Animals With Animals quite far down from the rest of them. |

The post-Wall albums aren't as good. Gilmour and Waters are both good songwriters, but anything they've released under the Pink Floyd name without the other hasn't been that great (not that they're bad albums, but not up to par with other Floyd albums).
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is a classic, one of the best psychedellic albums of all time. It's the only album they did with Syd Barrett, so it's somewhat different than the rest of their work. Obscured By Clouds is a great album. It's not a conventional album, however, it's a film soundtrack. It's more atmospheric I guess. Ummagumma is a pretty good release of older Floyd stuff. It's before they really hit their stride, however. I feel that they became a truly "great" band with Meddle. Pulse is one of the best live albums ever. It has my favorite version of Comfortably Numb. Roger Waters' album "The Pros and Cons of Hitchiking" is also a great listen. It sounds like a Wall-era Floyd album (which makes sense, since Waters wrote The Wall). It's similar to The Final Cut I guess, which was basically a Waters album. I'd say the essentials after the "big 4" are Meddle and The Piper At The Gates of Dawn. That's what I'd recomend you buy next. Obscured By Clouds is one of my favorites too. |

I only have "Wish you were here," and I only bought it for the title track. And even that gets owned by the Rasputina version. Not a bad album though.

Meddle is probably the one I listen to the most. Dark Side Of The Moon would be second. Then Wish You Were Here or Atom Heart Mother.
Obscured By Clouds is pretty great too. |

Saucerful of Secrets is better than people give it credit for. I mean yeah it was the transition away from Syd Barrett but it was still a good listen.
