I'm sick of all this "last title run" stuff.

Serisouly? What's up with it? Why does the Undertaker need "one last reign" as a send-off before retirement or something?

Why do people occasionally suggest people like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Austin, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels etc need one last run.

Do you think people like Chris Benoit will get "one last run" before his retirement? Coz I'm willing to say that he has worked as hard as any other guy on that list. Will he ever be a big name like Steve Austin? Absolutely not. But that doesn't mean he hasn't worked his ass off like anyone else.

And the problem with all these oldies getting one more run as a nice sendoff means that at some point or another every big star will get old and will require a "Send off", at which point no younger talent can get over.

Anyway, just my view. I personally hope Batista beats Undertaker at Wrestlemania. I wouldn't mind Michaels winning coz even though he is old, he doesn't come and go like Undertaker. He's been a constant part of the roster for the last few years and deserves it as much as anyone else.

As for what someone said in another thread about Ric Flair VS Jeff Hardy... yeah it's a nice match for Raw or Smackdown... but when people suggest that "Flair and Hogan tear it up one last time" or "Hogan and Austin have one final send off match/title run" it's fucking stupid.

Anyway... it's not often I post a thread that is longer than a few sentances, so there's a nice rant for ya.

Nobody ever really has had "one last run" in the WWE. I don't agree with it either, but in this years case.

Undertaker- He's better than Batista. If it's gotta be one of those 2 this summer, why wouldn't you want it to be Taker.

Shawn Michaels- Still one of the best workers on the roster, if not the best. Well overdue for a title reign.

I don't really mind Undertaker main eventing (even though I'd much rather see other people in his place), but I hate when people think that every wrestler who has ever held the world title or has been around for a while is entitled to a "final run at the top".

Undertaker keeps taking time off, his fueds are all the same and his matches kinda bore me a bit, I'd just prefer it if it wasn't him.

I definitely agree. I don't hear that too often tho, most people dont wish for a big title win sendoff because it doesn't happen. Either because the wrestler can't hang it up or because they just fade away.
I agree, its not good for business and its accomplishing nothing.
However, this year I'm going to have to throw that all to the wind. Because without a doubt I am rooting for HBK and Taker to both win the world titles.

Not every wrestler deserves it.

However, I do believe Undertaker does since he has been with the promotion for a very long time and I dont think I've ever heard anything negative about Undertaker with backstage politics. I could be wrong though but the guy is a certifiable legend who deserves to keep his Wrestlemania streak alive.

There were reports awhile back of Taker not wanting to put guys over but I haven't heard anything in a couple years.

I would love to see Taker have another run. He's argueably in the best shape of his life, he gets some of the biggest pops of anybody on the roster, and he's hands down still the best big man in the WWE.

I support Mr. Mark Calloway

HBK is still the best. Just because he's old doesn't mean he can't make Cena look good. HBK should win at WM. Keep the title off Cena for awhile.

Hogan's last run was eventually dropped to Taker, who dropped it to Rocky, who then dropped it to Lesnar.

Personally I don't mind if Undertaker wins the World Heavyweight Title at WM23. The reason being is that I could see a lot of interesting storylines that could occur after WM as him being champion. For instance, Taker has never feuded with Finlay, he could also face King Booker (who he hasn't wrestled one on one since 2004), Batista could possibly turn heel and keep the feud going, or perhaps Taker could face a heel turned Benoit or Kane.

As for HBK, I personally don't wanna see him win the title. He's already been feuding with Edge and Randy Orton recently, his feud with Vince McMahon lasted for most of last year, which realistically leaves a re-match with Cena or a feud with Umaga (who has recently been a title contender).

If you look at it like this, Taker could put someone massively over with this last title reign, as could HBK, its the perfect opportunity to create two more top heels for the future of the business by having them(whoever they maybe) take the titles off of those two.

Or am i giving the creative team too much credit there?

Yes, I know. But they're pushing him as a rising star. They are. I'm not even the one saying he should be on top.

I'd rather not see them face off in this situation anyway, but really. There are no guarantees in wrestling, even with healthy wrestlers, and you know it's not going to make a difference. Why they'd bank on someone jeritron, MD says is in poor shape is beyond me, but they are.

Do we know Taker is that close to retirement? I remember people saying that he was ready to go after his injury in late 1999. Considering his scaled back schedule, and how long professional athletes last in the modern era, I don't think we can assume that he's on his way out.

Am I missing some piece of news relating to the Undertaker?

Has nothing to do with news or rumours. My assertion stands.

I know I'm not a doctor. But at his age and how prone to injury he is I don't think hes got much more in his tank. He certainly shouldn't be pushed as a rising star for these reasons, and since his star has probably peaked. How much over can they get him? I think his star has been falling for a few months now.

WTF

Seriously, if anyone on any of the rosters deserves the whole "one last run" deal, it's Taker. The guy has been unquestionably loyal to WWE for over a decade. He is the consummate proffesional. And even though he isnt as good as he used to be, he can stilll put on a great match.

Seriously, I think he deserves it. You look at all the "Great Champions" of the past who have all had 5 title runs. That used to be a huge accomplishment. For an old school wrestler like 'Taker, it would be great for him to reach that milestone.

Thats my opinion anyway.

Benoit doesn't need one last run. The last time he won it was 2004. He had his time

Taker. Hmmm, last time he held it was what 1999? Sure he could use one last run. But he's gotta put someone massively over at WrestleMania 24 if he wins Mania this year

Ask Destor. Apparently, Batista=money.

WWE has faith in Batista, and as such, they will continue to push him. And he does seem to garner a decent response from everyone but the WWECW crowd.

Meanwhile, Batista's age alone isn't really a good reason to assume he hasn't got much in the tank. He's had a couple of injuries lately, but how injury-prone is he? How successful was his recovery? There are a lot of factors there.

There are a lot more factors that play against the Dead man, and the only thing that's really going for him is the inner child going OMGUNDERTAKERRIPGONG *faps*. And even that can only really pull so far.

I always thought a last run was a little bit more about who takes the title off them. So it's makes sense that while Undertaker is so over get him the title then hopefully push someone like Kennedy over him by eventually having Undertaker cleanly drop it to him.
