Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary...
In some interesting Square Enix news this week, the company recently revealed in an interview with Dengeki PlayStation magazine that it intends to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its premier franchise - Final Fantasy - by making a special announcement.

The anniversary date falls on December 18 and it is speculated that a playable PlayStation 3 demo of Final Fantasy XIII is what the company has in mind, as in the same interview Square Enix also confirmed that it is likely that a PS3 demo of the game would be available in 2007. Whether the company releases the demo in December or earlier is still unknown, naturally.

And as a sneaky Square Enix aside, the official US site for Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales was recently launched. The game is an adventure title headed to the DS in April of this year. Check out the adorable music here.

So I heard about all this before...but it keeps making me drool more and more looking at it. I wonder what it could be, honestly. I would LIKE to see a playable demo of FF 13, but I know what I WANT it to be.

Please, please, PLEASE let this be an announcement of a FF7 remake.

I've heard rumors that they want to make another online game. Read it could be based on FF7, which would make sense.

I read that in EGM as well, but they said it would most likely be in the setting of ff12.

Eh, I think the FF7 setting would be more interesting it would shut up the people who "OMFG WANT FF7 REMAKE" and the people who say "NO FF7 REMAKE".

Technically wouldn't be a re-make, but not far from a direct sequel.

I know it would never happen, but I wouldn't mind seeing FF3/6 (however you want to dice it. It has Kefka, that's all that matters. ) ported to a next gen system.

Again, low chances, but hearing that incredible Kefka laugh would send chills down my spine.

final fantasy 13 looks like the most confusing game of all time, also they are making 3 parts to that game and one of them is only playable on mobile phone or something retarded. and in order to get the whole story you have to play all 3, like what is the point of this shit

Yeah, I read in EGM about the sequel to FFXI, hopefully it's set in FF7 world, but I did like FFXII's world as well.

I would have to agree with you....

Honestly I dont care for a PS3 at this time...I want one...and will get one eventually...but I would rather play my 360 and get a Wii first...

BUT....

If they were to announce tomorrow that Final Fantasy VII was gonna be remade and put on the PS3, I would go to work tomorrow and pick one up the minute we open.
