R6: Vegas - Do you play?

For anyone who plays this -amazing- game (on 360, since I couldn't care less about the PC version), post your gamertag.

BroodiestOtep is what I use on XBL (not mine, but I use it). Just hit Captain yesterday for the deagle and spas 12 shotgun. Love this game. I play it pretty much every day for a few hours with a RL friend.

So now, use this thread to post your tags for it, and to talk about one of the greatest shooters ever.

Nah. I can't see using PC controls on this game. It just feels perfect on the 360, and I would mess myself up if I got used to the PC controls.

I meant that I play both versions. The PC is a lot more accurate for it but I like the 360 version too.

See, that's why I like the 360 version. The harder aiming makes it more of a challenge, and those that actually get good at it can be a lot better than others. PC first person shooter games.. just.. meh, I don't like how anyone can be really good at them. Of course, in PC shooters, you're either good or you're not.. there is no inbetween or varying grades of skill mostly.

Once you start going through the ranks, it becomes pretty addicting trying to unlock the new weapons/armor/camo and everything.

I love this game, haven't played it for about a week now though, which is probably the longest I've gone since I got it that I haven't played it.

Cant remember what class I'm at, it's pretty high though.

Yeah, it's been a few days since I've played it but only because I haven't been around a 360. Were you up to the officer ranks at least? (bars were the start of the officer ranks)

Also, can't wait for the new maps and game types, and the new ranks. I'm hoping to hit at least Colonel by the time the patch hits, but I wouldn't be surprised if I make it to Elite by then.

Same with a friend of mine.. he's a Major, if not Lieutenant Colonel already.

Yeah the new game modes sound really good fun, although the amount of bitching and whining that will happen if the VIP goes off on his own and gets killed will be through the roof. Hopefully it wont cost too many points. Will have a play later and see what rank I'm at, for some reason I think it's possibly a high end sergeant.

Aparently there was an update last night for this, haven't recieved it over here yet though to my knowledge. Anyway, I played abit of this yesterday afternoon and actually did rather well. Managed to rank up to Staff Sergeant, whoopie!

Also, still Captain.. but a RL friend just hit Lieutenant Colonel. It takes an insanely long time to level once you get to the officer ranks.

We played a good 10 games and won and he barely went up at all. Even at Captain it's going hella slow for me.

Found a nice little group/clan to play with the last couple of nights, very friendly and a right laugh to play with. Ranked up to Sergeant First Class after playing till 4am for the two nights straight, FUCK SLEEP!

Yeah, once I find a couple people who are fun to play with, I tend to stick with them for a while.

We found a couple guys in a clan who were a great laugh.. we started playing with them and played literally a good 30-40+ team sharpshooter games over the past few weeks and lost only one or two, and it was always due to other people on the team quitting and leaving us outnumbered. That, and I think in one of the games we were playing pistols only (our team, not the other).

We tend to do a lot of games using pistols only. I'm getting amazing with an MK, and sometimes for laughs I'll use the deagle.

The thing that most annoys me about online is when hosts restrict stuff. I can see why some people might think grenades and incendarys are cheap, but if you are actually good you can avoid them. Why hosts restrict guns aswell is beyond me, so its been nice to find some people who let everything go and you can just have fun and enjoy that game without whiney fags.

I've recently been using the FAMAS and have racked up quite a few kills with that baby. Used the MP9 abit but fancied something abit more chunky.

Yeah, I hate when people restrict stuff. Usually they leave C4, which is even more annoying..

I'll normally switch to a gas mask and smoke. Most people expect tear gas, but smoke has so many more benefits. Pisses me off when people restrict weapons too, as I normally carry the SPAS and MK pistol. Often, they'll restrict all shotguns.

I find the UMP45 to be the best weapon overall though. It's got a much longer range than it says. In maps like Killhouse and Streets (the only ones I usually play), it is an amazing weapon. It amazes me that people actually bother with a sniper rifle in those maps, because then you get screwed if someone gets up close to you.

Yeah, I've pretty much got Kill house and street maps locked down, aswell as LVU campus from the Bravo side, very rarely play anyothers than those ones, although the casino levels are always a laugh.

Was wondering about the sniper rifle achievement, can you get it even if you run around shooting guys without looking through the scope? Sounds dumb I know but have never used one so haven't got a clue how they work in this game.

Yeah, it only matters that you're using a sniper rifle.

Alpha has the best side, but it's not hard to win from Bravo side if you know what you're doing. It's just easier to camp Bravo side's base.

Yeah, Alpha normally has the advantage on most maps, but I guess if your that good at the game, it doesn't really matter where you start.

Love getting in the base and camping with an MK.

Pretty much the greatest thing to just see kill after kill come up, and your team just starts cracking up.

I've had several occassions when we were beating the other team so bad that I was in their base with a shottie, and I switch to a pistol to make it easier for them. Then I get 4 kills in a row not even trying.. rofl. I'm usually just like "OMG.. this is crazy *kill* WTF *kill* HOLY SHIT *kill*" and then finally they'll freak out and all charge at once and mow me down, or a stray grenade nails me.

I remember in one game four of my team climbed up the left building and four went in the right building and camped at the end. On someones signal everyone chucked their grenades through the windows, after all the lag went from the explosions we somehow managed to rack up about 11 kills, was so funny hearing peoples reactions to it.

Got your message last night but you weren't on by the time I got it. I probably would have done pretty awfull though as I was totally off my game last night, only won two games and lost a whole bunch, worst night for a long time

Where do you play it from then, is it some kind of console arcade or something?

Yeah. DS and I, and another friend (doesn't post here) basically open/close a local gaming center. They've got PCs and 360's, and we've played for free ever since it opened since we basically helped set everything up, and we help run it in our spare time. I might be on one last time later today, but not sure.. Hoping to get a 360 from the guy as compensation for the 6 months of help. So if I can, I'll probably be starting over from scratch with a new live account, as the one I used wasn't mine. But, I did all the leveling on it because the owner of the account didn't play R6.

Wouldn't have mattered even if youw ere having an off day.. I started off bad with my first game, and the second game I played I came back and had 30-something kills and like 4 deaths. Was just on top of it for the rest of the day. You would have won playing with us anyways.
