Best Celebrity Appearance
And by that I mean a celeb who actually gave the company their money's worth with their performance, being entertaining and immersing themselves in the wrestling business, rather than just standing there doing nothing (take note, Pamela Anderson).
We all know the impact Cyndi Lauper and Mike Tyson had on the business, helping to kick off two big booms for the WWE. They have to figure highly on the list. For me, the two best celebrity appearances (although I may have forgotten some) were Pete Rose and Bob Uecker. |

And the thing is, those guys don't mean a thing to a Brit, I'd never heard of either of them, but they are examples of guys who surpassed any expectations when it came to a "celebrity appearance" at a wrestling show.

The Rock when he came back to help Eugene.
But seriously I don't know. Drew Carey being in the Royal Rumble was funny. Last edited by Jura; 03-15-2007 at 01:07 PM. |

Mr. T.
His being at WrestleMania I made that event a success. It changed the idea that rasslin was for red neck losers, it was also for dumb ass losers who watched The A Team. The point is, if it wern't for Mr. T at the first Mania I would say it's a fairly even bet that WWE would have folded due to the failure of what they had bet all their chips on in the first place. After that I would say Andy Kauffman, Mike Tyson, and most recently (though to a much lesser extent than the beore mentioned ones), K-Fed did a good job of getting WWE that oh so craved pop culture media attention... |

rofl. seriously, I'd say the answer is probably between Mr. T and Mike Tyson. I'll give them a tie. Other notables, LT was pretty big I guess. Trump is proving to be pretty huge right now, I have heard people who don't watch wrestling talking about it. Pete Rose and Drew Carrey were classic but they weren't really big impacts. So yea, I'll say tie between Mr. T and Tyson, with Trump and LT finishing in second. |

Don't just take into account mainstream attention and impact on the business, take into account the actual quality of their work while they were involved in the business.

To me, as good as Tyson was for WWE, his actual performance wasn't great. He had a lot of talented people/writers working around him, making the most of his sheer presence.

As for Trump, honestly, I havn't heard one thing about Trump other than the other day I heard a radio ad to watch WWE RAW because Trump was going to be on there. One radio ad. Now maybe I have just been missing Trump popping up elsewhere, but from my point of view, Trump is very 2 years ago. When K-Fed and Britney broke up (which they were going through right as he was making his WWE apperances) K-Fed was a hot commodity. On a grand scale I'm not sure he really helped business all that much, but from my point of view he certainly got more people talking than Trump has thus far... |

I loved the Leslie Nielsen stuff as a kid. Couldn't work out why WWF was making such a mockery of their most serious character going MIA, but still... Frank Drebin at SummerSlam!

Trump isn't two years ago. First of all the Trump/Vince angle is getting mroe attention than Cena/Kfed. I promise you, I watch tv all the time. Plus I've also heard it talked about by friends and family, who don't watch wrestling.
The Trump thing was in the newspaper, has been mentioned on just about every news and entertainment channel I can think of, including ESPN. And his face comes up in the bottom right of the screen on USA about twice an hour, with the words WWE Raw, Mondays 9/8 c. Trump was huge 2 years ago, but he still is. And he just had the whole thing with Rosie, Apprentice is still huge. He's still Donald Trump for christ sakes. Last edited by Jeritron; 03-15-2007 at 01:44 PM. |

Kfed should come back and be a face. I mean, look at his wife. He used to be a huge heel, cuz everyone hated him. But thanks to Britney, he now looks like the victim. He looks like the good one. Kfed might have the best faceturn of the year.

I was kidding. But seriously, if they were to bring him back in any capacity they could easily make him a face now. Have him cut a promo on what a mess Britney is, and how he wants his children back. Then have a heel come out and beat him down, and a face rescue him. You have instant face heat, not to mention an in ring segment from WWE being played on everything from MTV to major news channels.

Sometime around 1995 I lost interest in all wrestling to the point where I stopped watching entirely. When I heard that Mike Tyson was to be involved at WM14, I regained interest in wrestling and have been hooked since.

If you go by a guy that really understood what he was doing out there, Andy Kaufman was by far the best celebrity in wrestling ever. He actually sold wrestling as totally real with what happened on the David Letterman show. Not to mention the guy worked the mic better then most actual wrestlers that came down the pike. In fact if you were supposed to play the cowardly heel in the wrestling buisness you have to watch Andy Kaufman promos. The guy was pure gold.

I am going with Andy Kaufman.
Also, I'd like to say that LT did a great job with his appearances and worked hard too. Also, Dennis Rodman - as it definitely helped that Dennis was so in tune with it, and into the idea of doing it. I liked his stuff with Hogan, Macho, DDP, Curt Hennig, etc. He was great as well. |

What about Jason Hervey?
![]() You know, of Bischoff Hervey Productions. Anyone remember when he was special guest judge at [I believe] Clash of the Champions one time? Plus, I think he was on WCW Programming several times, on Hogan Knows Best - AND - he fucked Missy Hyatt. Although I guess the last one could apply to anyone. |

Arnold's appearance was the goods. I can't believe it was on Smackdown, seems PPV worthy to me.
TBH, Arnold as part of a Wrestlemania seems like something thats so obvious that I can't believe it hasn't been done. IMO, it'd be good. Not in a match, but either in a guest appareance like that or a Special Enforcer role. |
