An idea.

So, what if wrestling federations had seasons and schedules like other sports?

The schedule would be like baseball wherein wrassler A would face wrassler B multiple times in a row. To allow for some sort of feuds/story at least. But everyone would face everyone. Each wrassler would have a win loss record, and then at the end of the season, the top wrasslers from each division (ie, RAW, Smackdown, ECW) would get into the playoffs. With the overall winner getting to be Undisputed Champion.

It would force long term planning, and ensure that every wrestler gets screen-time (even if they are a jobber and their win/loss record ends up all losses). It would eliminate the need to create feuds with stupid storylines, instead just occurring naturally.

I don't know. Just a weird idea that just popped into my head sitting here.

Not it wouldn't work. At least not at the moment.

If pro wrestling were a legit sport, then that would be a good idea, and I think it's something many of us have thought about in our infancy as pro wrestling fans, or at least it's something I somewhat thought about (didn't put it the same way, but it was the same concept I had).

That sounds like something they would do in Japan as a "round robin"-esque tournament thing.

I was going to finally write another commentary on something like this. It has benefits which i wont go into right now, but I'll whip one up soon.

Tis gets proposed sooooo often. The average fan doesn't watch consistently, this would drive away the average consumer. Things are always the most successful when they are at their most simplistic. Over complicating things will ruin you in American marketing. Nigger society, etc.

If wrestling was legit, it still isn't a team sport (tag teams barely count). MMA and Boxing don't have seasons, so why force a non-team sport into a team sport structure?
