During the main event of Wrestlemania 23, featuring the champion, John Cena, against Shawn Michaels, Michaels botches a leap off the top ropes. Vince McMahon decides that Chris Masters would have been a better man for the main event. The lights in the arena immediately turn off, and some scuffling is heard in the middle of the ring by those ringside. When the lights come back on, John Cena continues to wrestle against challanger, Chris Masters, who everyone, as instructed by the announcers, remembers as being the REAL challenger for the title.

Soon the day will come where the WWE changes its mind about its long term booking mid-match.
