William Clifford reporting. ... Glen Jacobs was on Rover’s Morning Glory radio show yesterday. I heard only the last 15 minutes or so but it was surprising. Glen seems to be a very intelligent person (not to be judging him by the Kane character). Rover brought up that he heard he was an avid libertarian, and Glen seemed to come to life, they had a very intelligent politically minded conversation (at least as one could with Rover). They had a caller on who said he’d been watching for years and wondered if Undertaker was really his brother. Glen, fresh off a real conversation about politics, stumbled a bit and seemed to get annoyed, he then said “yeah Undertaker is Kane’s brother”. I think Rover picked up on the fact he was annoyed and cut off the caller. At the end, Rover discussed that the bumps they take were real, and that anybody getting chest slapped by Kane would have a hell of a bruise. Rover then tried to get Kane to chest slap on of his lackeys, and Kane said “maybe if you pay me a lot of money”. Rover then commented that the WWE people were all standing there waiving their hands in a ‘no’ gesture. The interview ended soon after. When he left Glen gave Rover a little card which had a political test on it titled ‘how to know if you are a libertarian’. The morning show spent the next half hour taking and discussing the test. I found the whole thing interesting I guess because it was Glen Jacobs talking for the most part, not the Kane character.

Allowed? He's required to. It's part of the "Nonsense Clause" in his contract. It requires certain wrestlers to break KAYFABE, while others are mandatorally bound to it.

And he is stuck in the middle, where he has to give interviews for See No Evil in character, but is allowed to discuss libertarianism in a lucid and reasoned fashion while being required to keep up the pretense that Mr Glen Jacobs and Mr Mark Calloway are in fact related by blood.

I remember back when Kane still wore the mask and GamePro was doing interviews for one of the older wrestling games...WWE Attitude, I think? They only posted the interviews with D'Lo and the Rock, but they did mention that Kane's favorite videogame of the time was SimCity.

Kane was actually better than he'd been in a long time when they took the mask off him. The problem is, he was still pretty shitty, and they ruined even that.

I'm just saying, the reason he sucked then was less the mask removal, and more the ball removal from years before.

I disagree. I loved that tag team. Kane went to shit, well probably when they were finished with him and Taker and he was kidnapped into the corporation. That was pretty weak. Kane and Xpac was alright. Then he had a terrible 6 month fued with Xpac, why?
Because they had to break up that tag team that was working out well for both of them.
They were way over and got broken up because HHH was floundering as a champion and they needed to take Waltman and the Outlaws from what they were doing, and put them HHH as his lackeys to make him a better champion with a stable.

After that, Kane was a mess. When Taker returned as the american badass Kane got a new look and he was booked pretty good but he wasn't the same character anymore. He was just a normal guy in a mask for some reason in the bros of destruction. They buried in him early 2002 again. Then when he returned he was way over. They had a second chance but HHH not jobbing the title and the Katie Vick storyline killed him. He went on to doing just about nothing, getting left of the wrestlemania card that year, and finally taking his mask off. Which was the end of it all despite a few pushes here or there.
