Cena vs. HBK

It has been confirmed that Cena vs. HBK will be the last match taking place at WrestleMania on Sunday. In an article on SI.com, Batista said that he and Undertaker will steal the show like Ricky Steamboat and Randy Savage did in 1987 at WrestleMania 3. "We're going to give them a match they're going to remember. I guarantee it. We're going to tear the house down." Also, Batista and Undertaker were reportedly mad that they weren't going to be in the main event for the show.


Anyone really surprised? Oh and LOL at the Batista comment.

Who is going to carry who in the Batista/Taker match? Anyways I can see why they put Cena/HBK last, so when Cena wins, it will not matter if people switch channels or not, the PPV is over.

hmmmmmmmmm, I just now actually read this particular post and have to wonder why it would matter if people changed the channel or not to begin with, considering it's a Pay-Per-View. If you wanna pay for an event and then not watch it, I don't see why the person you paid for the event should care.

John Cena turning heel isn't so much what people think will happen as it is what they want to happen. There is a key difference there.

Mr. Kennedy ending The Undertaker's streak would be a huge rub for him, in just one night getting his first two WrestleMania wins, ending The Undertaker's streak, winning MITB and becoming World Heavyweight Champion. If the WWE wants to turn Mr. Kennedy into a star, this is the way to do it. They just need to find someone to face Kennedy afterwards.

I think it's more likely we'll see Kennedy win MITB, Taker win the Title, and a drawn out feud between the two. I'd much rather see Edge or CM Punk (which has little chance of happening) win the match.

Realistically, they probably should care about implications of the next PPV, but they'd never know, and probably wouldn't care.

Can anyone find even ONE connection between the two? And if they wanted their match to go on last, maybe Batista should stop sucking 18 different yet equally nasty smelling peices of ass every time he gets in the ring.

This is sad. SmackDown! hasn't headlined a WM since 2003. And it's even more odd when you consider the last two winners of the Rumble have been SmackDown! wrestlers.

To be fair to Batista, as ridiculous as his comment was, his dream opponent at WrestleMania is The Undertaker, and he proved he can work a match with Kane. I think if they keep it short, sweet, focused and plan out some good spots, it will be a pretty cool match.

John Cena and Shawn Michaels closing the show is a good move. Cena and HBK will probably have the better match, and it makes me think there may be a swerve. The WWE will be missing a huge opportunity if they don't turn Cena heel, in my opinion.

Hopefully Cena and Michaels get their own special entrances, like Cena and Triple H did last year. Maybe have Shawn Michaels start off with the DX music, showing all his great moments, and then have it break into Sexy Boy as he makes a big pyro-filled entrance. That would be sweet.

I think this definitely takes out the move that if Kennedy were to win the MITB, he would cash it in and take Taker down, taking the title and the streak with him.

With that said, I think they are going to do something drastic like turn Cena heel. I'm willing to bet that Vince loses his hair, but comes out and screws HBK and aligns with Cena. You wanna turn Cena heel, have him align with Vince.

This is promising in two ways:

1. Taker's streak ending would have been a huge deal and something that would close out the show. This makes it less likely Taker's gonna lose.

2. It sets up a long-awaited heel turn. Wrestlemanias generally end with something crazy, whether it be that big win the underdog finally gets or a huge swerve. Since there's no real underdog here, the logical choice is big swerve.

Well, even if this plays out like a repeat of WM 17 (that was the one where Austin turned heel, right?), it could be fucking sweet.

A heel turn is the only way to go, in my opinion, so of course it won't happen.

A factor to consider is that John Cena and Shawn Michaels are still World Tag Team Champions. It would be odd to see them turn whilst still Champs. I guess they could run an enemies who are partners angle, but yeah.

They really should have had Cena/Michaels lose the World Tag Team Titles to the WGTT on RAW, and have Haas and Benjamin face Kendrick and London at WrestleMania in a Champs vs. Champs Match.
