What is the problem with Michael Bay
I see all these people shitting all over Transformers, even though it's not even out, just because Michael Bay is directing.

So what? What, did you want Quentin Tarentino or something. It's a freaking action movie. His other action movies were great for what they were, imo. I really don't get the hate. People need to stop taking action movies so seriously.

I don't think Bay is a good Director personally, only Bad Boys sticks out as one of his films I can watch again.

I fully expect Transformers to suck, so i'll probably be suprised when it's average, but that's cos i'm going in with such low expectations.

Just rename Transformer 'Micheal Bay's robot movie'

I think the problem with Bay is that he gets these huge budgets to do all this amazing shit, and yet it somehow turns out to be boring. He's kind of like the John Cena of filmmaking. A budget that large could go towards funding some more talented directors to come up with interesting shit.

I'm not going to shit on Transformers, though. I'm sure Hugo Weaving will be entertaining as fuck as Megatron, plus Bay's reputation for mindless action will be pretty sweet in a movie that already has established characters and its lines drawn.

I really think Transformers will kick ass, and I think it could be Bay's best movie to date.

The Rock was pretty good.

But, like Skippy said in his song in dance, he lost some major points in Pearl Harbor.

I'm on fence right now about Transformers. We'll see what happens.

Who the fuck is Micheal Bay?

Also, I'm the biggest Transformer's mark here, bar none. I know this movie is going to piss me off in the biggest way ever. Am I going to see it on openning day? Hell yeah I am. But it is going to suck. I have seen bits and pieces of the robots, there is no respect paid to the original transforms. Plus, where the hell is Starscream?

Like I'm not saying he is an amazing director, but I have enjoyed what movies I've seen (The Rock, Bad Boys, The Island.)

And BDC, any movie about any product of another medium, like comc book movies and stuff, ALWAYS pisses off the hardcore fanbase. Not their fault though as it is extremely difficult(i'd almost say impossible) to fully cater to both hardcore fans and casual movie goer. Also, I do believe starscream is in it.

Ok granted The Rock was decent, but that did have a really good story to it and 2 fucking great actors putting it over, none of which Mr Bay had much to do with.

Oh and Saint, The Island was fucking terrible, 2 adults with the IQ of teenagers outrunning and out smarting the US police and a crack team of bounty hunters in a world they no nothing about? Plus that scene with the train wheels falling off the truck, all the transport in that film hovered, WHY WOULD THEY NEED FUCKING TRAIN WHEELS.

I do wish they had stuck to the original Transformers. That would have made it a nostalgic orgasm. A bunch of new characters? Mmm. I don't think that's exactly Bay's fault, though. Wouldn't the writers/producers be to blame for that mistake?

Um, as far as I know they did stick to the original. The guy who voiced optimus prime in the carttoon is even doing prime in the movie.

I think besides Optimus Prime and Megatron (P.S. I love the old Megatron, but Hugo Weaving voicing him will be so fucking awesome. I hope they best out the classic Beast Wars "Yesssss!".

I was a mark for the lowly characters in Transformers. Characters like Ratchet and Skywarp. Chances are they won't even have Ironhide.

I just want to say that I think it's lame to hate a movie simply because it doesn't stack up to your estimation of the original. Nothing can survive that kind of scrutiny.

Now there are some offshoots that are just awful. I cite Eragon here. I understand that sometimes, movies are just bad. And Transformers might be. I won't shit all over it, just because not everything Bay's done is awful, though I expect Bay to make bad movies, and so I don't expect much out of the movie based on that alone.

But seriously, go into the movie and watch it on its own merit, rather than with fanboyish standards from the comics or cartoon or whatever. I mean, most of the shit the movie's gotten so far are based on places where it's not true to the movie. Who gives a shit what kind of vehicle Optimus Prime is? Wasn't he a Monkey in one of the Cartoons?


I mean hey, of all the complaints about the movie before its released, Michael Bay hating is the MOST valid. His movies are generally limited even for action standards. It's not horrible to say "I thought his previous movies were ass, I expect this one to be, too." And yes, Direction can make or break a movie.

With Tarantino directing you'd have about 90% of the robots decapitated, every human tortured and skewered or shot in the head, the word 'f*ck' in all of its forms about 2 or 4,598,009 times, and dialogue between two characters that has f*ck all to do with the plot. I think Michael Bay can at least not do that so he's got that going for him.

Well if your a fanboy your going to go to see the film anyway, so classically films that would attract fanboys don't normally stay true to the original story (see Resident Eveil, oh don't get me started on that shit....).

But I will be watching the movie, and I think I will leave being surprised, only because of my low hopes going into watch it. It is just going to be another Micheal Bay action movie, only this time it has robots in it, i'm sure i'll be able to pick holes in it, and the action will look good for what it is, but that's about it.

Any movie or show based on something else attracts fanboys. Regardless of whether they are true to the source or not.

Nobody tries to appease the fanboys because the stupid fucks will watch no matter what. See also, wrestling smarks.

But still, the mewling rants do get tiresome when it deals with an otherwise good movie.
