I think there is no way around it...
I have the best mind for booking, ever. Even though I'm a huge Nash mark and hate Benoit I could put them both in a position that would best use their talents and give them the apporate pushes and whatever. Serious, I could make anyone look like a golden god (as long as they keep up their end).
Fuck, why won't TNA or WWE just hire me. I could make TNA watchable. |

Well, I'd like to see an example of your booking. I happen to love Chris Benoit but I also like Nash so I'm neutral on you right now.

You never asked, but what the hell, I'd book Jericho, Edge, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Sabu and RVD in a TLC Hell in a Cell Money in the Bank match. Edge and Jericho would both grab the case at the same time and share a title shot

2) Character becomes this kinda no-nonsense kick ass/take names heel that you hate because he does just beat the hell out of whoever he wants. Not because he's a weasel or a cheater. 3) Aligns himself with Edge in the coming months to help Edge regain the WWE Title. 4) Helps Edge beat Cena for the WWE Title in October or November. 5) Edge promises Murdoch a title shot for his help but never comes through with it. Edge eventually turns on Murdoch, turning Murdoch face. 6) Murdoch vs. Randy Orton in a match to determine the 30th entry into the Royal Rumble. Murdoch wins via botched intereference from Edge. 7) As Murdoch is coming out to the ring for the Rumble, Edge ambushes him and beats on him outside to stop him from winning and coming after Edge for revenge. Murdoch never makes it to the ring while the last two competitors slug it out in the ring. The last two in the ring eliminate each other at the same time, Murdoch wins the Royal Rumble while Edge has him outside. 8) Random series of obstacles thrown in front of Murdochto stop him from making it to Wrestlemania. 9) WM 24 Main Event Murdoch vs. Edge Ladder Match for the WWE Title. Murdoch goes over clean, including a sick spot from a fat man off the ladder. Murdoch has beaten Edge in his own kind of match at Mania and becomes the new WWE Champion. |

Step 1) I would have Murdoch actually on tv. Step 2) Tweak his gimmick. Start making him into an ugly, fat, pissed off, bad ass hick. Step 3) Get him into a program. Not a big one at first, but just a feud. Like say him and Cade are in a match against the Highlanders. During the match, Cade gets "injured." The next week Murdoch swears revenge and challenges Robby to a one on one match. Have Murdoch get disqualified for not breaking a hold at a 5 count. (BTW, Murdoch should be wrestling a very stiff, brutal and ugly style, i.e. an uglier Taz, without the suplexes). The next week Robbie and Rory are in the ring (Robbie is bandaged up), and they call Trevor out and Rory challenges him to a match. Murdoch calmly walks down to the ring, socks Rory in the face and knocks down Robby and assaults both of them. After a minute, he picks up the mic and says, "In case you did understand, I accept." In the match, Murdoch again brutalizes Rory. This time he makes Rory tap, but won't break the hold. Ref reverses the desision. Now on week 3 the Highlanders are in the ring again, this time both are bandaged up. Again they call out Murdoch, who comes down with Cade (in a cast or something) down to the ring. And they exchange some heated words and make a tag team strecher match for Backlash. In a fairly brutal match, Cade and Murdoch come out on top. May week 1: Umaga and Estrada are in the ring and he says that the Bulldozer wants a challenge. Murdoch and Cade come down to the ring (Cade still in the cast). And offer Umaga a challenge. That night Umaga and Murdoch work a match to a no contest when the ref gets knocked out and the replacement ref also get knocked out. Month 2 week 2: Cade and Murdoch (Cade is now basically Murdoch's manager, and still in a cast) are in the ring and call out Umaga. Murdoch says "I ain't done with you yet boy, I want another match." Umaga starts nodding wanting the challenge (he and Estrada are on the stage). Estrada is heistant and says not tonight. Murdoch insistes that there is a match. Then Vince's music hits, he comes out, still steamed at Umaga and makes a match for Judgement day for the IC belt, and it is no holds barred, no count out, no time limit. For the next few weeks, tease the match with Umaga and Murdoch being hled apart and stared downs. At judgement day, again a very brutal match, with back and forth brawling and a few spots here and there. Then Umaga as Murdoch in a hold signalling the Somoan Spike, Murdoch very loud yells in the ring "I don' think so fucker." Kicks Umaga in the balls and beat Umaga for a minute, applies his own finisher and picks up the win. June: Umaga and Murdoch continue their feud and there is a return match at Vengence. Murdoch again picks up the win in a non-gimmick title match, but it is just brutal. July through February: We are kind of on autopilot, just letting Murdoch defend the IC title against the middle card, Cade helping him win here and there, but never making it look like Murdoch is relying on Cade. He should be dominating over everyone, and occasionally throw in a upper midcarder or even a maineventer. We already have his personallity in place, now we just need to build his record. Also, he does not go into the Royal Rumble, he is busy defending his title. Mid Febuary: The Royal Rumble winner chooses to go up against 'Taker or who ever has the Heavywieght title. I'm assuming at this point Cena is still WWE Champ. Cena is out cutting a promo about how no one is there to challenge him. Murdoch and Cade(yes, still milking the cast) walk out and get in Cena's girll. Cena laughs it off as if he is better than that. Murdoch knocks Cena's hat off his head. Cena starts to get pissed, but then laughs it off again. Murdoch then knocks the title out of Cena's hands. Cena looks even more pissed, but laughes it off again. This time Murdoch cracks Cena in the head with the IC title. Security rushes out and pulls Cade and Murdoch of the ring. Next week Cena calls Murdoch and Cade out and challenge's Murdoch for a title vs. title match at WM. Murdoch win the match. As long as Murdoch can put on watchable matchs, he rarely will have to say much and will look pretty tough as long as he keeps up his end. Also, you might have noticed that I made sure the IC belt was defended for the first time in 5 years at Wrestlemainia. |

Honstly here is several reasons you plan isn't as good:
1. It is too easy to make a single's star by making a tag team fight. My way just changes there position, so both worker benifit, instead of one getting pushed to the moon and the other withering away to be fired and work for TNA. 2. I show how Murdoch becomes the bad ass take no shit heel, you just say he should be. You can say things all day, but if you don't know how to make it happen it is pointless. 3. Murdoch and Edge have nothing to do with each other gimmick wise. It wouldn't make sence for them to team up. 4. Make Murdoch a lackey for any strech of time would hurt his push. 5. You have Murdoch turning on Cade and Edge to become a face after you been building him as a heel. You are turning him to fast, and everyone will remeber that Murdoch is a turn coat, it will hurt his face push. 6. Ladder matchs are for guys with a certain flash to their style, Murdoch is not one of those guys. It probably would not look good. 7. WM 24 will probably have a MITB match again, 2 ladder matches in one night, the latter (no pun intended) match will look bad no matter what. And as mentioned before, Murdoch would not be able to make it look that good to begin with. |

1. You do have a good point in Lance Cade benefitting in your scenario, but Lance Cade could still find success away from Murdoch. He's just not a part of the scenario. When you have him become a manager-type, you also run the risk of turning him into a second fiddle. That can be easily overcome, though. 2. That's a good point, and I really did like Murdoch when he came down to kick-ass on his partner's behalf, and didn't even need back-up. It was a great foreshadowing of success. 3. Trevor Murdoch was actually a lackey for Edge just prior to the Rated-RKO thing. While it is in the past, you could bring it up to justify Murdoch re-joining Edge. 4. I agree with this. A lackey can not always just turn on the master and be seen as a threat. Lackies can often lack character development, and they seem to willing to take a lesser role. There's no ambition, and it kind of wastes time which could be spent working on making him into more of a lone wolf. 5. Another great point. I think if they did have Murdoch turn on Cade, and then Edge turn on Murdoch, I'd have Lance Cade pull Trevor Murdoch aside and say something about how it's OK for a redneck to be betrayed by a redneck, but a redneck never gets betrayed by a Canadian. He can maybe even patch up an alliance with Murdoch, which puts him back into the scenario, as you suggested he should be. You can go as far as having Cade like Murdoch for showing the zest he did in turning on being ambition, playing up his past training by Shawn Michaels, who taught him the value in stabbing people in the back. You could then always tease a break-up, with the ever-present threat of Lance Cade "Shawn Michaelsing" Murdoch once he's the WWE Champion. 6. Trevor Murdoch is surprisingly nimble in the ring. He also has the old-school psychology thing about him. I actually think he'd be pretty damn great in a Ladder Match. 7. That's a great point. I think a Ladder Match between Edge and Trevor Murdoch in Mercury Bullet's scenario is a pretty random stipulation. I think a Street Fight would be better. They can tease Edge's background in TLC Matches at WrestleMania, and his match with Mick Foley. Edge can address Murdoch, "This isn't one of your incestuous bar-room brawls. This is WrestleMania. My show. Do you honestly think your flabby redneck ass can out-tough me at my own show? And tough is all you've got going for you Murdoch." |

Also, I would like to say that if I had two years instead of one, my plan would work that much better, giving Murdoch more time to grow, plus might be able to throw in more matches with tough guys like Benoit or Regal. You may also have noticed no where did I say Murdoch was a straight heel, nor did I say he was a face. The scenario starts off with him defending his partner, that if a face thing to do. His matches, he'll fight dirty and have a chip on his shoulder all the time, which is fairly heel. He also isn't cowardly heel. I'm actaully booking him more as a face with strong heel tendancies, it gives the character more depth. Plus it frees him up to work against everyone without turning. I mean yeah, the first two feuds he is in he is pretty much booked as the face. And in the Cena feud, he again is the face as Cena is acting like an arrogant heel. |

Good. Your plan was good, only if I were to put the IC Title on Murdoch I wouldn't have it carried into 'Mania as title vs. title. He would have to drop it first.

The only thing about mine, to defend a few points for whatever reason...
1st- Edge and Murdoch wouldn't be a random pairing, they do have a brief history together in the not so distant past. And they would be paired together because Edge has promised Murdoch a title shot in return for his help, Murdoch basically acts as Edge's henchman, doing all the dirty work. He really wouldn't play second fiddle to Edge, Edge would have the gold, but Murdoch is getting over because he's doing everything. 2nd- The ladder match because Edge is known for TLC and Ladder matches, it's his thing. A face Murdoch going over Edge in his own kinda match at 'Mania would be sure fire overness. |

Meh, I still like my idea better. Plus it would help get the IC title more reputation if an IC champion went over Cena.
I would also probably follow it up with Cade getting annoying with Murdoch's success, Cade challenge's Murdoch to a match for the IC title. Cade and Murdoch know each other well, so Cade can logically go over Murdoch and win the IC title. After the match because they are men, they patch up their realtionship over a beer. This way we can build on Murdoch not trusting anyone but Cade and vice versa. Also, down the line if Murdoch ever needs a tag team partner, he can always go back to Cade, or Cade could go back to Murdoch. |

John Cena vs. The Undertaker in a title unification match at Summerslam. Befoe the match can begin Vince comes out and announces a suprise third contender, FUNAKI!!! It's now a triple threat match for the Unified Chamionship, first pinfall or submission takes home the gold. Everyone laughs at the announcement of Funaki. Funaki gets smacked around most of the match and at one point winds up out cold outside the ring. The Undertaker sets up Cena for the Tombstone Piledriver as Funaki recovers, Tombstone on Cena, but instead of pinning Undertaker gets up and poses around the ring and plays to the crowd and what not. As Taker gets up, Funaki slides into the ring, covers Cena, and gets the three count!!! New Unified Champion, Funaki!!!!
![]() Doesn't get him over or make him legit but DOES make him Unified World Champ. |

My attempt at Funaki:
Vince McMahon announces a roster draft, and one of the picks to RAW is Funaki. He shows up on RAW in new attire, ready to make his debut against someone like Shelton Benjamin. The two work a pretty neat match together, but Shelton can't put Funaki away for some odd reason. Shelton eventually leaps to the top rope, but Funaki headbutts him down, and then follows with a Kamikaze Headbutt. 1-2-3! JR points out that the Kamikaze Headbutt was old-school Funaki. The next week, Charlie Haas takes a crack at Funaki, but he he can barely even get any offence in the opening minutes of the match. Funaki is just on top of everything. Lawler says that the reason Funaki is stepping up his game to get noticed, or something. Funaki picks up the win with The Rising Sun. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas beat-down Funaki after the match, but Stone Cold Steve Austin (Funaki's real-life friend) runs down and Stunners both men. Austin helps Funaki up, and holds Funaki's hand in the air. Jim Ross talks about how he has spent days on the ranch with Funaki and Austin, and he knows that Funaki knows just as much about wrestling as either of them. He's finally showing the world that. The next week, Johnny Nitro is Funaki's opponent. Nitro goes for his corkscrew moonsault, but Funaki dodges and hits a Kamikaze Headbutt for the pin. Vince McMahon approaches Funaki, and says that he knows the reason he was hired. He was the best wrestler in Japan, better than Tajiri, better than The Great Muta, better than Ultimo Dragon. He didn't want Funaki to go to the competition so he tried to move Funaki into an announcer role. He threatened to fire Funaki if he didn't lose matches; Funaki accepted because he wanted the millions of dollars Vince provided. McMahon tells Funaki that now he wants to show-up his big guys, and befriend the man who helped shave Vince bald? Vince fires Funaki then and there on the spot. No. Better yet, he puts Funaki in a match at Backlash against Umaga; if Funaki doesn't win, then he's fired! Funaki uses his shoot-wrestling background to try and take it to Umaga strong and early in the match. For a guy his size, he really does hold his own against Umaga. Stone Cold Steve Austin comes down to ringside to cheer on Funaki. Umaga goes for the wrecking ball, but Funaki dodges through the bottom and middle rope. Umaga's back hits the turnbuckle. Funaki climbs and hits a missile dropkick on Umaga. The big man won't go down. Sweet Chin Ongaku by Funaki! Umaga finally topples over! Kamikaze Headbutt by Funaki! Umaga manages to kick out at a two count! Funaki then hits a Stunner on the Samoan Bulldozer! 1-2-3! Funaki is only the third man in history to pin Umaga, and is the new Intercontinental Champion! The World's Greatest Tag Team runs out for revenge after the match, but Austin and Funaki hit respective Stunners on Haas and Benjamin to clear them out. Austin sloshes back a few brewskies, as Funaki holds his newly won Championship up high, as Vince McMahon appears on stage and does not look happy. I won't go into too much detail, but that's a way to set up Funaki as a babyface with an ally in Stone Cold Steve Austin, enemies in Haas and Benjamin (who he can work great matches with on a constant basis, always going over), and it puts the IC Title on Funaki cleanly. It also lightly touches on why Funaki used to lose so many matches: Vince was asking him to throw them because he didn't think Funaki was big enough to represent his American-based sports entertainment company. From here, and this is without too much detail, I'd have Funaki, as Intercontinental Champion, thus default #1 Contender, challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship. Make it Title for Title, like Hogan/Warrior at WrestleMania 6. John Cena gets Funaki in the STFU, but Funaki refuses to tap. Vince McMahon comes out and tells the referee to ring the bell, which registers the submission, and Funaki is screwed ala Bret Hart. John Cena is the new Intercontinental Champion. This gets under Shawn Michaels' skin for some reason, so he and Funaki form an alliance against John Cena and Vince McMahon. At one of the PPVs, you can pull a 2000 King of the Ring, and have Cena and Vince vs. HBK and Funaki, where the maker of the fall becomes the new WWE Champion; his partner Intercontinental Champion. In this match, I'd have Funaki pin Vince, which makes him the new WWE Champion, and Shawn Michaels IC Champion. That adds tension between Vince and Cena. As well as a new look for Funaki when he jumps over to RAW, after he reveals himself as Stone Cold Steve Austin's friend, and have a mind and talent for the business, I'd also change his name to "Shoichi Funaki". It just sounds more complete, and can wash away some of the jobber images. |

Here ya go BDC. THis is what you have to work with
2 midcard wrestlers Up to 3 other wrestlers/manager/personalities Book an interesting and active feud that lasts a year, and involves, at minimum, at least one match per month involving at least 2 of the 5 people. |

Shelton gets traded to Smackdown and immediately goes after the US championship. He is refused a title shot for some reason I can't think of right now. So instead of getting frustrated, he brings in a "Rhyno" look-a-like and challenge's him to the "ECW TV Title." Shelton goes over. He then does another title v title match for the US title. Shelton goes over, and had a good title run. By now it I would assume that RVD or Burke or someone else is ECW World Champion. Shelton works out a deal where he can give up his US title for a shot at the ECW World title. Shelton goes over and has another decent title riegn. Loses it after 6 to 8 months. After losing it, he is traded back to Smackdown. Now Shelton is playing off a gimmick where he claims to be one of the most decorated WWE Superstars, what with being a former IC, US, WWE Tag Champ, World Tag Champ, ECW TV Champ, AWA Tag Champ and ECW Heavywieght Champ. He also adds in that since he was IC champion, he was the Hardcore champion and European champion because both those titles were unified into the IC. He also claims he has his sights set on the World Heavywieght title. Have him work a program with the champ and winning at a smaller ppv, like Vengence or some shit. After another good title riegn, Shelton enters the Royal Rumbe and prompt loses. Shelton is dismayed, this is his first real set back in a two year period. He regroups and gets ready to qualify for the MITB match for Wrestlemainia. For the second time, he promtly loses. Shelton is furious, and further more not in Wrestlemainia, but he vows ain't nothing will stopin' him, now. He hints at a plan to get into Wrestlemainia. During the MITB match, it goes back and forth, being the complete train wreck it always it. Everyone but Matt Hardy and Rob Van Dam are laid out from various injuries. Hardy and Van Dam are fighting on the ladder, when Shelton runs down, knocks the ladder over, climbs another and takes the brief case. And the just as quickly runs out. Moments later one of the interviewers finds Shelton hiding out in a locker room and questions him about it. Shelton claims the breif case has a contract (which he pulls out) take claims who ever signs it, gets a title shot at his choosing. The contract itself says nothing about having to be in the MITB ladder match. At the end of Mainia, Shelton still fresh pulls a Hogan...I guess it would be more of an Edge and Challenges the WWE Champion for the title and wins it quickly. It isn't quiet what you asked for, but fairly close. |
