horseman reunion?
Source - Wrestling Observer Newsletter
With the strong success of the Degeneration X return last summer, an idea has surfaced of bringing back yet another legendary faction, The Four Horsemen. The plan would be to have Arn Anderson return to the company and partner up with Ric Flair for one or two televised matches. The return would be used to help promote the new Four Horsemen DVD. Triple H is said to be the main person behind the reformation. Arn is said to be positive about the idea, but due to legal liability reasons, the reformation will not happen unless he can obtain medical clearance. Thoughts? |

One match, Arn/Benoit/Flair/Tully.
Hell, Arn and Naitch don't even have to wrestle that match, Arn just has to do a few spinebusters. |

And Flair just needs to show up at the end and apply the Figure 4.

It sounds dumb. They only have 2 names so far. Sure they have Benoit under contract, but who else would be in the stable? I hope the get mongo.

Since they'll do it anyways, it ought to be Arn, Flair, Carlito, and someone DESERVING that needs a rub.

Dean prolly could go. It hasn't been that long, and doesn't he train wrestlers anyway?
Arn... I'd lean toward no. |

I just looked it up and Arn Anderson is only 2 years older than Dean Malenko. Anderson born in '58 and Malenko born in '60

Malenko has a bad neck, but wasn't FORCED into retirement, he decided that he wasn't going to rise above his current status and quietly slipped into retirement. Plus, he was training for a match against Benoit at One Night Stand II which was ultimately cancelled, so he could probably go, with a bit of training.
Anderson hasn't worked a match in a decade, has no flexibility or feeling in his left arm, has a severe neck injury which could paralyze him with just one bad bump, and to be honest was treading water even when he called it quits. If Malenko decides to come out of retirement, I'll be happy for him, getting his one last shot, a la Finlay, as long as he is confident in his health. If Anderson comes out of retirement, he's a fool. He has had a lucky escape... it would be a shame if he were to hurt himself getting back in the ring like Paul Orndorff did in 2000. |

If they have to reserve to new members...who's somewhat technically sound that they could get...unless they push Regal (just a thought)

Well the way I understand these reports, any Horseman reunion would only be a short term thing to push the DVD sales, so I doubt we'd see any new members.
They have Flair, Anderson, Benoit, Malenko and Windham under contract, so any combination of those. |

I said this on the thread in the Headline section...I am kind of ok with the idea of a one night match, but if this is a long standing thing, HELL NO!
One Night Match: FLAIR, Tully, Arn & Benoit. |
