wwe kills ecw ppv

WWE Chief Operating Officer Michael Sileck announced during their First Quarter Earnings Release conference call this morning that the second annual ECW December to Dismember PPV has been pulled from the WWE schedule and will not take place, citing the fact that three PPVs in five weeks is "just too much."

Last year's December to Dismember PPV did an abysmal buyrate coming at the end of a similar period of several PPVs, despite having an Elimination Chamber main event. The execution of that event, which featured only two advertised matches as well as a PPV event that went off the air after only two hours and 10 minutes, led to the expulsion of Paul Heyman as the lead writer for the ECW brand.

This year's edition of the PPV was scheduled to take place in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Vince McMahon sucks dick.

I'm sure it's Paul Heyman's fault though, because he was the one who booked the event, and decided to hold an ECW event in Georgia, and Im sure he was the one who marketed and decided how it would be advertised. And Paul also had controll of how it was presented and I'm sure it was his idea for the crowd to sound like a bunch of seniors watchin a high school play.

Vince is always lookin for an out, and somonelse to blaim, and if people are gonna start lookin at "ECW" as the third brand maybe there should be some attention givin to it instread of booking yourself to win a title and killing any of the credibility "ECW" may have still had with original ECW fans.

But Vince knows what he's doing, its not like attendance and revenue's are down or anything.

Heyman knows what he's doing. It's not like his company belongs to Vince and has been out of business for over 6 years after completely collapsing or anything...

Seriously, get Heyman's dick out of your mouth and stop blaming Vince because he isn't concerned about the small demographic of IWC fans.

Paul Heyman is not a god. Vince McMahon is not the devil. Interest in pro wrestling on a whole is WAY down. There are too many PPVs, and the entire concept of this third brand has been a terrible idea since day one. Talent is stretched too thin, and if the WWE is truly committed to becoming big again (which I honestly don't think they are, I think they're comfortable right now) then they would end the Brand Split, cut at least 1/2 of the roster which is total dead weight, unify the World Titles, leave the IC and US, unfiy the Tag Titles, and I suppose leave the Cruiser and Women's. Anybody who is suprised to see that PPV go is an idiot. I say it's high time WWE stops spreading it's talent, focus, and engery around and gets back to basics. It's hard to give a shit about three different brands when not a single one is strong enough to be a company unto itself. The only thing remotely interesting in any of the Brands currently is the World Title picture (a REALLY sad statement when you realise one World Champ is injured and another is Vince himself). The brand split was a novel idea (though one I've hated since day fucking one) but it's time has worn out. The entire idea of artificially creating a "rivalry" between them was almost done well, but overall has been a disaster.

One Company, Twelve Pay Per Views. Am I asking too much that a company acts like a company and doesn't attempt to dominate an industry which it already has an overwhelming monopoly?

exactly. Vince is supposed to be the clueless moron because his company is still in business and he's not listening to Heyman. This of course infuriates the dozens upon dozens of IWC fans who are delusional enough to think that things not being booked to their liking represents the company and Vince not knowing what they're doing.

Rule #1:
Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean Vince doesn't know what he's doing. Vince knows exactly what he's doing, and he doesn't care that you don't like it because you (we) are in the minority.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad. On the one hand, this is a PPV I won't get to go to that I guess I probably would've (didn't know it was gonna be in Charlotte), but on the other hand, this is December to Dismember that I won't get to go to that I guess I probably would've, so...

KOTR was the last of the five to get a PPV in 1994 I believe. The others (as PPVs) came somewhere between 88-91.

It was also the first to get cut during the brand split, and the brought back then cut again.

It would help make them feel special again...not that they don't have a special feel to them not, but it would make them more exciting. Plus, the really explosion of ppv came about because for WWE v WCW in trying to get more people watching. WWE could probably cut back a ton on ppv, but I don't know how much money they are really making and all the economic factors working. idk

If WWE insist on many PPVs they sould have a pricing scale like this.
The "big four", Royal Rumble, Wrestlermania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series at 50 bucks each, all others 20 bucks.
