Lol, is now the time for Matt Hardy to step up?
With the main eventers of Smackdown! dropping like flies and Batista apparently set to feud with Mark Henry - are they going to put Matt Hardy in headline position of the Smackdown! part of a PPV?

Other then Randy Orton going to Smackdown - that looks like the only logical choice for the time being.

I have a feeling Orton is going to stalk Edge to Smackdown. Failing that, it might not be a bad idea, unless all that crap about Michaels going to Smackdown were true.

A Matt Hardy VS Edge fued for the World Title would be pretty cool I reckon. Obviously Hardy would never win it, but it'd still be cool.

Matt and Edge do bring out the best in each other. Plus with their history, it wouldn't be a strech for Matt Hardy to be seen as a legit challenger for Edge.

Hey, good looking out Darth! These Colombian Snow Bellied Colon Crabs I had FedExed to me last week can't find their way around a taint with a road map. I don't know how QVC even stays in business.

I think the number one thing Matt Hardy has to do is change his look/image ring attire, entrance music everything. If doing what he's been doing for the last 3 or 4 years and it hasn't gotten him anywhere why would it now?

He's always gonna have those few fans who pop for him whenever he comes out, but if he doesn't start to do somethin different soon I dont see why he should even be considered being made a main eventer.

You know, JBL does praise Matt a decent amount from what I've heard on commentary, so why not play it up. Make Matt his future star of choice / protege'. Have JBL start giving him funding, have Matt start mimicking JBL's attitude, etc.

An Edge - Hardy feud would be great, mainly cuz Edge would have a decently long title reign. Also, there aren't really any 'Invincible' wrestlers on smackdown, (Cena, HBK, Lashley for example) so maybe they can give Edge some clean victories as well. Mostly, i hope he keeps it untill Kennedy returns, they'd have a good match

Hardy should have fucked up Edge and getting himself disqualified. Edge wins, and it looks like there is some big conspiracy against Matt to protect Edge, positing the fans in his corner more.

Anyway, I'm not too sure if it will happen, but Hardy has been on a damn fine role recently. He's a great worker, JBL makes him out to be main event material, and he just beat Mr. Kennedy (the man who Edge defeating made it possible for him to challenge for the World Heavyweight Title, so Hardy could use the same excuse just to get Edge's attention).

Edge will get a chance to show off his "SmackDown! Six" side now that he's back on the blue brand, so some fun matches would likely take place between him and Hardy. Random idea: Maybe Edge could even start up his own stable with Chavo Guerrero (who he respects from their early SmackDown! days), Gregory Helms (who shares Edge's dislike for Matt) and Mark Henry (hired muscle)? Edge, Guerrero, Helms and Henry would at least be a colourful little gathering. Chavo and Helms could exchange the World Tag Team Championship with The Hardys a few times, and Jeff could become a part of the cruiserweight division. It could work.

I doubt Matt Hardy would actually win the World Heavyweight Title in his program with Edge, but it is all exposure. Matt Hardy can be a main eventer. When he's not trying to be tough on the mic, and rather is an arrogant cock (see his Mattitude days), Hardy can be really enjoyable in the promo department. His attire and theme music are fine.

So yeah, if I were booking, Edge vs. Matt Hardy at Judgment Day for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Thanks for summing that up, KK.

Time for my 2 cents. I like Hardy. He's the kind of guy that I put in the same boat as Benoit, as in he doesn't stand out 24/7, but he's also never had a match that failed to entertain me.

Matt doesn't have the mic skills or charisma to be a main eventer. Work rate only gets you so far. Ask Chris Benoit, who crashed and burned in 2004 and has barely registered in the main event scene since.
