You know what...
...I was laid off by a company a few years ago (a company, might I add, that didn't even bother to wish me good luck in all my future endeavors,) and I had to sign an anti-disparagement agreement effective for one year. I was just thinking about this in terms of WWE, and I wonder, having been through the Monday Night War and all, why don't they require their wrestlers to sign similar agreements to keep them from spewing shit when they go to TNA?

Freedom of speech?
And I'm still waiting for Vince to pay me my redundancy after he fired us all on Raw a few years back. |

Anyways, it's not a freedom issue, it's a contract issue. There's no legal issue in a contract stip to the effect that you won't talk smack on the company for x time period. That's just part of the agreement; you agree to perform, behave in a matter befitting the company, and stfu for a year after you leave; they give you money. All part of the agreement. |

Most businesses only make you sign nondisclosure and noncompete contracts.
