The Used - Lies for the Liars
Now I know what you're saying. Their first 2-3 albums were absolute shit. But this album is actually really decent. Headstrong-pop with a bitter overtone and some dance able rhythm. It's the beginning of what could be an essential make over for a completely lackluster band.

On the contrary, I really enjoyed their first CD and loathed their second. Have not heard much off Lies for the Liars save for "Bird and the Worm" or whatever it's called, and I liked it more than anything I heard off In Love and Death, but not as much as anything off the self-titled. I think it's gonna be one of those third albums which is like a happy medium between the previous two extremes. I'll give it a bash, if only for my nostalgic tendencies for the self titled album.

I liked "Box Full of Sharp Objects" a lot, but everything else I've heard has just been OK.. I'll keep an ear out for this album.
