The first heel you liked
First off, sorry if this thread has been done already.
So I was thinking about the year 1990. Hulkamania was in full swing, and it was still real to me, damnit. I felt pretty bad in the summer of 1990, when Earthquake was going to wrestle Hulk Hogan. Here we have this icon in the industry, the guy everyone loves, The Hulkster, wrestling this huge monster of a man called Earthquake.... Albeit I was a little Hulkamanaic, I wanted Earthquake to win. This was a man everyone was booing. That meant he was mean, horrible, and was a nazi. He was going to get in the ring with a man who everyone loves! Why did I like the bad guy!??!?!? To this day I don't know why I was cheering for the bad guy. All I know is I liked Earthquake more than Hogan. To this day, that remains the same. So who was the first heel you liked? Looking for all the people who still remember when they thought it was real... I think we'd get better answers that way. Quote:

hmm, probably Pillman around 95. I don't think I cheered for Doink (Matt Bourne) or Jake Roberts, but it would of been one of them if I had.

Triple H, I watched wrestling alot starting around the time DX was formed and thought he was cool shit. I loved the way he was cocky, and arrogant. And backed it up.

IRS
I just loved how he'd come off the top rope, the face you raise his boot trying to connect with his face, then he'd stop, spin round and drop an elbow, that was the first time I watched a heel and just went all 'woah!' that was pretty cool |

The Freebirds.
Unfortunately, it was the shitty version with Jimmy Garvin... But hey, no one could talk shit like Micheal Hayes. And I mean NO ONE! Others that came to mind is anyone feuding with Sting, who I hated, "Lone Wolf" era Barry Windham (Who I considered the Ultimate Bad Guy. Trips took notes, I swear.), and I respected two guys right off the bat seeing them: Steve Austin and Scotty Flamingo (Raven.) |

Owen Hart. I like how he stood up to his brother. Not like I had a brother I could relate that to or anything, but you could just feel his frustration.

I didn't get into wrestling till 98, so Chris Jericho. This was when I was still somewhat markish and just cheering the people I knew from teleivision, but there was something about Jericho (even as a heel) that just made me cheer him.

Heel cruiserweight Jericho is hands down my favorite character of all time. Loopholes, conspiracy victim, Ralphus, name screw ups, bitch fits.....everything was just so fucking hilarious about that guy.
