TPWW Hall of Fame: Mid Level Wrestler

The People's Wrestling Website Presents: 1st Annual Wrestling Hall of Fame Voting

(Banner Thanks to James Steele)

Mid Level Wrestler

Welcome to the first nomination thread for the 1st Annual TPWW Wrestling Hall Of Fame Voting.

The nominations you see here were selected by 11 members of the TPWW Wrestling Forum Committee; Myself, BDC, KOOS, Xero, mrslackalack, NeanderCarl, Loopydate, WWKD, KayfabeMan, Rob and James Steele.

We each selected 4 nominees for each respected category.

The Categories were as follows: Top Level Wrestler, Mid Level Wrestler, Tag Team, Manager and Misc (i.e someone who has contributed a lot to the business that may not fall in the other categories)

Now we pass the torch to the TPWW Community to help elect our first Hall of Famer from this Category. There will be four other categories to follow, in which four more electees will be chosen, completing are Class of 2007

Please cast ONE Vote for this category. At voting close, the top 3 guys will move on to the Final voting for the Veterans Committee. From there, the committee will have a final vote to elect our 1st TPWW Hall of Famer from this category.

So, Let the Voting Begin

I swear, if both Flair and Tully go in as the first class, TPWW will instantly have the most credible Hall of Fame out there...

good cases were made for both ways. I always thought of him as a ME too, but I understood the other side.

I understand the case that he spent alot if not most of his career at mid-level, but I just don't understand how a guy that ME Wrestlemaina against Hogan and Flair ( and going over Flair to win the belt) is still considered a mid-level guy.

by the way, to all the committee members: I'm reading all your e-mails and PM's in response to my quesitons posed earlier. I'm getting really good ideas and need to kind of meet half way with everyone.

So far, I've had almost everyone agree about the "Golden Age" (coined by mrslackalack) Selections we were discussing about us putting in automatically. One or two didn't think we needed to do that though.

Almost everyone agreed with the automatic entry without the final vote. Loopy had a good idea though taking that a step further. If you want to explain it to everyone Loopy, go ahead.

By voting for Tully...duh...

Seriously, whoever votes Tully gets Tovo Rep, and that's even better than green dot rep.

A lot of worthy contenders in there. Some good choices. I nearly went Regal, but then I doubled back to Davey Boy Smith, but everyone there has a case to be made. I almost wish I could go back and vote for Tully, but I voted for Hennig. Tully is just one guy who should be inducted because he is Tully fucking Blanchard. Curt Hennig I was leaning more towards because of his classic Intercontinental Championship matches and such.

Come on Steamboat!!!!

This is making me think we need to induct multiple guys from each category for the first time around... we need to catch up with the times. It's like if the pro football hall of fame started THIS year. If they started out just inducting a couple guys the first year, some deserving guys like Troy Aikman would have to wait til all the older guys get in and they wouldn't be inducted until like 2035

Went with Tully though it was a coin toss between he and Arn.

Sooo, where's Chris Jericho if he isn't on this list or the top level? In truth his real place is somewhere in between. He's like the Roddy Piper of his era, but he deserves to be on one of these lists. Probably this one.

I think Tully will get my vote.

Not to sound like a nitpicking asshole, but no Jericho on this list..no NAO or E&C on the tag team list...no Savage on the main eventers list. These are some of the most popular ever in their division and they're not even choices.
I think these lists need more attention before they go up on the ballot. With all due respect.

LC forgot to use my nominations for the mid card guys, but I had both Jericho and Hall (which I think it's a joke neither one of them made the list)...also if I had gotten my list in on time my tag nominees would have been NAO, E&C, Arn/Tully, and the Outsiders

I would and could have been the voice of reason...but then again I wasn't here for most of this...

In easily the most wide-open race in the TPWW HoF balloting, Curt Hennig is the only wrestler to appear on more than half of the ballots. He appeared on eight of eleven. Brian Pillman and Ted DiBiase appeared on four apiece, and Rick Rude had three. Everyone else on this massive poll received only one or two votes.

I went against the grain and chose JYD, because while some would argue about Bobo Brazil and Ernie Ladd's impact. I think JYD had the biggest impact with the African American community. He was a GOD in the South in the 70s-80s.

I seriously think WWF/E dropped the ball with him big time as he came in with the fan fare that really could've rivaled Hogan.

By the way, there's still a chance for a couple more of you to vote Tully and not make me ashamed of this entire board.

I went a head and voted Tully, Dibiase isn't a mid level guy, he's a main event heel so I went with Tully.

Too many names to chose from. I just randomly chose Regal. I didn't know who to chose because I loved a lot of those guys.

Didn't see much point picking any of my favorites since there was no chance of them getting into the final three... so, I believe you owe me something, Tovo.
