Will Cena drop the belt before Summerslam?
Considering the low ratings and plunging stocks... do you think they will finally listen to the boos and have him drop the belt soon? As soon as next Monday perhaps?

Well, I assume they don't want to job him out to Hunter, and since Cena chasing the title into WrestleMania will work better than him as Super Champion, I say he's losing it sometime between now and Survivor Series. Probably at SummerSlam to Orton then Triple H will take the title from him.

Nahhh I don't think that WWE see's him as the reason for the slump. Although I used to agree with that thought now I think they need to take the belt from him.

It wouldn't happen but it would be a nice touch for Carlito to face off against Cena at SNME in a Raw rematch for the title. Well Carlito beats Cena for the title and then a triple threat match is booked for Summerslam with Carlito/Orton/Cena. I don't know how good that match would be or if it would help buyrates but it would be interesting.

Yep. There are four, maybe five, people that are going to get the blame for this. They are Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, Carlito and Mr. Kennedy. The fifth possibility is Umaga. John Cena and Candice Michelle will not be blamed for last week's main event, and Vince will blame Kennedy and Carlito for not somehow increasing the rating of the show that no one was watching right from the get-go.

John Cena should be blamed, though. At the risk of sounding like I have it out for the guy, I don't think he should be punished, or that he should be the only guy to get the blame, but if you want an on-screen reason for the ratings drop, he is the best you are going to get. The WWE not only hangs its hat on its Champion, these days, but it hangs damn near everything right down to Vince's g-string on them. Blaming anyone else now is just hypocritical.

Cena losing the WWE Title would be refreshing, and if he loses it to anyone, Carlito is the logical choice. However, I can see a Triple Threat Match with Mr. Kennedy, in which Kennedy would win the Title. I am still of the mind that they should have an Elimination Chamber at Summerslam, with Mr. Kennedy, Carlito, John Cena, Randy Orton and two others as participants. Maybe Umaga and Jeff Hardy? Fuck, you could even have King Booker and Triple H in the match, which would increase its star power, considerably.

I still maintain that Orton is not the man to be WWE Champion right now. King Booker should be the man, with Mr. Kennedy in the "Plan B" slot.

Not King Bookuuuuuhhh. Kennedy or Orton would be better right now. I especially like the idea of putting the title on Kennedy, and have him work a program with HHH on his return. We all know trips will have a title program and I think him and Kennedy would be absolute gold.

If it was up to me?.............no. Not yet.

I'd push Cena/Orton kind of like Austin/Angle from 2001. Have Austin/Angle go to a "no contest" or whatever at SS, but then have Orton go over Cena at No Mercy (or whatever the PPV is called after Summerslam). If they can stretch the feud out to THREE months (Cena getting the title back), I'd even do this.

Basically, here is what I'd do:

-Summerslam --> Orton and Cena go to a no-contest
-No Mercy --> Orton defeats Cena
-PPV after No Mercy --> Cena defeats Orton.

Now - I touched up upon this a few weeks ago, but I'll say it again. It is my hope that Randy Orton becomes the "inverse" of John Cena.

In other words, I would like the WWE to push Orton big time as a heel, but IGNORE the fans' reactions when they cheer the heck out of him.

So basically - even though Cena would technically be the face and Orton would be the heel, the crowd would react the exact opposite....vehemently (since they're not "supposed to") and this will make the Orton/Cena feud even more interesting.

Having said that, I'd like to see Cena win the title back a month after losing it to Orton.

As long as Cena is in HIGH PROFILE feuds against HIGH PROFILE wrestlers (i.e. Taker, Batista, Triple H,....even a returning Austin/Rock), the fans will absolultely LOVE to boo the living shit out of Cena (IF the WWE do NOT deliberately turn Cena heel!).

If it was up to me, I'd even go as far as getting The Rock back for Wrestlemania 24. The Rock vs. John Cena would be fucking amazing in terms of crowd reaction.

Whether we like it or not, Cena is far and away the biggest star in the WWE right now (for better or for worse).

I'd argue that its not Cena turning people off the product. It's the fact that the WWE keeps feeding Cena lackluster opponents (i.e. Lashley, Umaga,....and even Edge for that matter).

Like I said - the crowd was absolutely JACKED when Cena fought the likes of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Rob Van Dam.

Put Cena against the likes of Batista, Undertaker, and heck...get Hulk Hogan back for one match. If Cena draws shitty numbers and gets lukewarm crowd responses, THEN you can say........"You know what? Cena is turning people off of the product. Lets make a change."

Give Cena some quality opponents. Then make a judgment. Just my $0.02.

I only read the results after RAW because I am sick of Cena/Lashley so I can say that I dont watch because of Cena either.

Keep in mind that I don't watch much wrestling nowadays. I know that Cena is stale, but I'm not quite sure to what extent.

Think about this though. If you have a guy like Orton be champ and HE is consistently feuding with non main-eventers (i.e. Lashley, etc.) then will there really be much difference?

I still contend that its the WWE's faulty booking and not knowing what to do with their "characters" that are at fault......not Cena. But whatever.

Anyone who actually blames Cena for what he's done is a moron. Truth be told, he's had some good matches this year. His character and his promos are what are really holding him back, and that all lays directly and entirely on Creative and Vince.

Sadly, as much as I like Orton, he isn't ready for the strap. Nobody has received the stroke that Cena has. The one monkey show just hasn't worked, and unless they really and truly just reset the WWE we're stuck. Maybe if creative could just have a clean slate without demands to push cena into the stratusphere, they could churn out some watchable shit. Whatever you feel about Cena, Lashley, Orton, Kennedy, Edge, or any other Superstar....they're only chesspieces. Creative is the Chessmaster, and we're the sad lacking assed public.
