Could Shady/Aftermath records become the next Death Row Records?
Think about it. With the signing of Busta Rhymes the first thought that came into my mind was" could this be the death row records of the new millenium?
Under the label they have Busta, Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, D12, Obie Trice etc.... Many have a history of run ins with the law and many people have labelled 50 cent the next Tupac(stupidest thing I've ever heard.) And with Dre, there's a connection to the old era of Death Row Records. Your Thoughts? |

Yeah I really disagree.
Fiddy and Rule's 'beef' will not amount to anything anywhere near as serious as Pac and Biggie, and I doubt Fiddy will ever be in a proper fight again. The main thing with Death Row is that Suge pretty much ran the LAPD when he wanted to, (People who doesn't think that he was a big part in the whole Pac thing can suck my dick). I don't think they will be anything like Death Row, as Dre isn't a gangsta, Eminem definitly isn't, only G-Unit are anything close to it. Fiddy's been shot and Yayo is in jail, but the rest of the label havent exactly done anything eventful. I prefer Aftermath though, I've made 2 quality CD's with their stuff lately. There isn't a bad artist on their label. |

Yeah I wasn't sure if he'd been released a couple of months ago.

I really believe that the era of good rap is dead and that there won't be another Death Row records.

I don't really like any of those rappers, apart from Busta.

Yea Yayo was released but went right back in on passport fraud charges which obviously violated his parole. Also Shady/Aftermath wont be the next Death Row mainly because they have more "stars" than Death Row had. But Im pretty sure Em and Dre arent gon set up their biggest star to be killed just because they decided to leave the label as Suge did Pac. Also Shady/Aftermath are more diverse. Death Row was a pure west coast label(although 2Pac is from Brooklyn but repped LA hard). Shady/Aftermath got Dre, The Game and possibly Ice Cube holding down the west; Em,Obie, and D12 holding down the midwest;G Unit and Busta Rhymes holding down the east;and Stat Quo holding down the south. With the exception of that b*tch 50 Cent Shady/Aftermath is a more solid label than Death Row. Thee only people with skills on Death Row are Pac, Kurupt, Daz, and Snoop(if you even consider him having talent). Also I doubt Death Row ever saw Shady/Aftermath numbers. Plus Shady/Aftermath got 2 people reliable of going Platinum everytime and they are Eeminem and 50 Cent.

Aftermath is Aftermath. They're not trying to be like Death Row. They're themselves. Loads of talent and they are killing the game. It's not about the criminality of things or else we might as well see a CD called "Best Of San Quentin Vol. 1"
Stupid argument, Gertner, you idiot |
