BDC official review of WWE's Unforgiven 2007
Spoiler warning, dumbasses.
1) Punk v Burke - B+ - Decent match, not a lot of build up, or effort. But a solid preformance from both. But it isn't like we haven't seen them face off a million times before. ECW needs more roster depth. 2) Greasers v MVP & Hardy - A - Good match, great entertainment. 3) Carlito v HHH - B - It was pretty much what I expected. Another win for HHH 4) Candice v Beth Phonix - C- - Beth should have won. Candice sucks. 5) Kahli v Rey v Bats - F--- - Fuck you batista. Fuck you. 7) Cade and Murcoch v London and Spanky - A+ - Great match. Best match on the entire card. 8) Orton v Cena - B- - Actaully enjoyed this match. And decent finish for once. Plus builds towards a rubber match. But still it sucked. 9) Taker v Mark Henry C About what I expected from these 2. Not great, could have sucked a lot more. Overall rating, F because of David Batista. Fuck him. Brought down the entire show. I can never forgive him. |

I was actually surprised with the Candice Michelle/Beth Phoenix match. Also, Candice's hair extensions falling all over the ring was pretty hilarious. There was some solid wrestling on the undercard, but the Orton/Cena finish really pissed me off.

1) Punk v Burke - Burke was really impressive and will definitely be an assett to either Raw or SD when ECW folds.
2) Greasers v MVP & Hardy - MVP and Matt Hardy's chemistry is getting better every match. They are really telling this story well, and the build up to the inevitable US title match is going brilliantly. 3) Carlito v HHH - Was okay but nothing great. Predictable. 4) Candice v Beth Phonix - Bullshit, I hate Candice, her theme is really really nutgrating. Beth got robbed. 5) Kahli v Rey v Bats - I 'marked out' out of pure shock that WWE have changed a World Title holder. Bats gets another run, which means another 6 months of him in the main event. 6) Cade and Murcoch v London and Spanky - Okay match but I don't really care about either of them, I went away and made coffee. 8) Orton v Cena - Quite good but short. The finish was a cop-out for a PPV, but when there's a PPV every 3 weeks it doesn't give enough time for a build. I'm definitely looking forward to the Last Man Standing though. 9) Taker v Mark Henry - No idea, I went to bed after the WWE title match. |

You really should have seen Cade and Murcoch v London and Spanky, it really worked up the crowd at the end. It was simply amazing.

That's pretty much the story of most famous girls right? Used to be ugly back in school but blossomed into a hottie.

Far too kind of a review...I was really disappointed, as is becoming the trend lately. Twice in a row now (Summerslam being the other), PPV's have been stacked up decently only to be a steaming bowl of crap. Unforgiven took it another notch down from Summerslam.
1) Punk v Burke B- -One of the more bland encounters between the two. It could be though, they have simply met up so many times in such a short amount of time that they really don't know what to do in the ring with each other right now. I HATED that this match went on as long as it did only to end with a roll up. 2) Deuce & Domino v MVP & Hardy B -Overall, probably the best wrestling match of the night. Mildly entertaining, and had a real match ending. 3) Carlito v HHH C+ -Incredibly slow paced. Expected ALOT more out of the both of them. 4) Candice v Beth Phonix C- -Pretty crappy match overall, but was one of Candice's better matches (which doesn't say much, however). 2nd match in 4 thus far that have ended via roll up. What is this, TNA? 5) Kahli v Rey v Batista D- -Boring as can be. Only thing that saved it from an 'F' was Batista's horrible selling of Mysterio's offense. And that made the match entertaining, but not for the right reasons. 7) Cade and Murcoch v Londrick B- -Crowd was completely dead until the bery ending, despite London and Kendrick's continued efforts to get them more involved in the match. Kudos to them for at least giving a shit. 8) Orton v Cena F- -Most disappointing match in recent history. Worst DQ scenario ever. Total suckfest. 9) Taker v Mark Henry D -Takers back. Whoopity do. Doesn't do a damn thing to salvage any of this card with this mediocre match up. Overall: D- |

I actually pretty much agree with BDC.
CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke was not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The actual match was solid, and with Morrison's suspension, this was the best match possible. I guess they also could have gone with CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke vs. Kevin Thorn, and maybe even have thrown Stevie Richards in there, but still. I was a little upset that they didn't give Burke an entrance, as that makes him look like a joke. This match should have happened later in the card, too, or at least have it explained why it is on first. Have Styles just inform the audience that Burke wanted the first memory of Unforgiven to be him walking out ECW Champion. I also have no issue with it ending in a roll-up. Matt Hardy and MVP vs. Deuce N' Domino really should have been the opening match, in my opinion. Hardy and MVP are over, and it was bound to be a solid match, and it would have been a nice warm-up. I liked bits of it, but at times it was a little sloppy. Not bad sloppy, just not as good as it could have been in a perfect world sloppy. I didn't like how Hardy got the hot tag to MVP. I was hoping for Porter to actually want the tag, and for it to be expected that MVP would not accept the tag, only for him to accept and clean house, hitting the Ballin' Elbow (that could have been even bigger than it was when MVP did it). Deuce N' Domino will work better as singles competitors than a tag team, in my opinion. MVP and Matt Hardy need to remain WWE Tag Team Champions until Hardy beats MVP for the US Title, and then MVP can turn on Matt, and we get their singles feud really going. Triple H did not completely squash Carlito, which was good. Boring match, though. I did not care, however. I, quite frankly, never particularly want to see Triple H again. Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix surprised me. For a generic theme, Beth Phoenix's music is awesome. She is indeed very bangable. I have a feeling she would bang you back, BDC, but I think it would be in a good way. Candice was looking pretty good, too. Both physically (except for her face), and in the ring. I knew she was improving, but damn, she actually worked a nice match with Phoenix (who was flawless here). I'm not opposed to Candice retaining, however Phoenix should win the belt soon. Very soon. Move Candice to SmackDown!, and set up another women's division there, and make Candice their top face. Her voice is still really annoying, though. The Triple Threat Match started off abysmally, but you could tell some hard work went into the planning, and particularly towards the end, it got good. I haven't been watching SmackDown!, but I liked it when Khali got tangled in the ropes, and the match just had "shape" that other matches don't. Not saying it was great, it was just not as bad as it could have been. It wasn't as cliched, either. Khali seemed to be working his ass off, too. He deserves to be nowhere near a World Title, but he was not completely unforgiveable tonight. Batista winning really needed to happen. I have a feeling that they're going to try and lure Ric Flair back with the promise of a teacher vs. student feud for the World Heavyweight Title. The World Tag Team Title Match was not as great as I was hoping, but it certainly was not bad. Lance Cade busted out a sweet-ass Emerald Frosion, and London & Kendrick worked hard, as they usually do (I mean, let's face it, it's not like they have characters and development to fall back on if all else fails). John Cone (sweet name for a referee) got in the way of London & Kendrick a bit, which is the downside to that "real reffing" policy. The ending was a little too clean for my tastes. I get that the WWE didn't want to switch the titles again, but I think having a more definite element of "cheating" (a belt to the head of Kendrick, for example) would have done so much more. Either that, or the old "legal man doesn't get the pin" trick. John Cone was all over the place, and is pretty inexperienced, so it wold have worked. On a related note, I don't care what anyone says: London & Kendrick's attire is awesome. Whenever they bust out some new costume, it usually wows me for a bit. They're odd choices, but they need to stand out some way. They're seriously undeveloped characters, and something eye-catching like this makes sure the attention goes to them. I personally think that Kendrick, particularly, is getting annoyed with the lack of development they are getting. When he was trying to get the fans behind him, he seemed almost aggressive with it, in a "Fucking clap already, bitches" kind of way. A lot of people are acting like the crowd was dead, but they really weren't. They popped appropriately for the face offence, and booed Cade & Murdoch when it was called for. The crowd wasn't exactly "hot," but I don't think "cold" could describe them, either. This feud really needs to continue until it reaches its potential. I did not care about the WWE Championship match, and all good will built towards the Cena/Orton program has been erased. There was just nothing worth writing home about anything in regards to Cena/Orton. The fans were pro-Orton, and what else is new? Many are convinced that it is a good thing the fans want to see Cena beaten, but personally, I think it is shit, considering he is meant to be the top face, and the guy you're hanging your hat on. It doesn't send a positive message when you're top face is being a pure hero, and getting shat on for it. The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry? ROFL! The Undertaker thinks he is so important, and he comes out and the crowd is pretty much dead for his match. I guess they were about as hot as they were for London & Kendrick's match, but considering the exposure and history The Undertaker has, this was just pitiful. I also think that there was just more natural energy in the World Tag Team Title match. I don't care what anyone says, The Undertaker's entrance is shit. People still seem to love it, even on the IWC, but personally, it bores me to death, and looks hokey as fuck. He also looks so gay in a leotard and wearing eye-liner. As a new fan, I'd be turned off by The Undertaker. Right...a guy with shitty special effects, wearing mascara, a leotard, and pretending to be a zombie and doesn't even have the commitment to the role to, you know, ditch the brand name gloves? It's like me pretending to be someone from the middle ages, and then dropping my car keys on the way to the ring. The evening was definitely a mix bag, but I enjoyed a lot of the show. Even the best programs of the night have some creases to iron out, though. |

Here is my verdict on the PPV
Burke vs CM Punk - Solid match and liked how Punk actually kept with the Psychology in the match. His back was fucked from the Boston Crab and would not be able to hit the Go2Sleep. So instead he used a roll up to win. 4/5. MVP & Hardy - Greasers - Liked this match and was entertained. 3/5 Carlito vs HHH - Meh 2/5 Womens title match - Skipped this match. Collie vs Bats vs Rey - Bats wins the title, oh hell yeah ![]() Rednecks vs Londrick - Amazing match, don't know how the crowd could not get into it. 4/5 Randy "Mr Resthold" Orton vs John Cena - Stinker of a match and Orton looks like a bitch getting that retarted kick from Cena's old man. 1/5 Taker vs Mark Henry - As awesome as Taker is, even hecan't get a good match out of mIzark. Hell if Kurt Angle can't do a decent match with him, no one can. 2/5 Overall shite PPV, highlight for me was Collie crushing the Watermelon with his hands. |
