The Undertaker is so fucking lame
I don't really mind him in the ring or anything, he's actually looking as good as ever if not better, but whenever he cuts promos or does his retarded mind games shit, my eyes roll directly out of my head. I think at this point in his career, he should stop playing dress up and go back to something more American Badassesque, which was actually when I enjoyed him most (as a heel, mind you, face version of that sucked ass).
Do any of you mark for the Undertaker? How? Explain yourself to me right now!

Yeah, his programs are all pretty identical nowadays with the mind games (Kane, Orton, Kennedy, Mark Henry, etc) but in the ring he's been decent to downright good lately. Not sure if they went back to the dead man gimmick because they thought he would be retiring soon and wanted him to finish on that or what.

I 100% agree.
I didn't like the Badass at first, but over time especially when he was a heel he really grew on me. But when he came back as the Deadman, it was kinda nice for nostalgia's sake. I dunno though, maybe its because I'm older, but the whole act just seems really cheesy now. |

Before his temporary departure as the "Dead man" the first time, I was a complete mark for his gimmick. But since his return after his ABA run, the gimmick seems forced and overused. He has pretty neat entrances, and I still enjoy his "sit straight up" when he gets up, but that's about it.

Also, why does The Undertaker always seem to have really shitty opponents?

I don't consider that any more of a no sell than when people like Austin, Rock, Cena, HBK, etc, get a "second wind" and start speeding around with 500 clotheslines. It's more the "turning point" of the match, as opposed to a no sell. |

Never been a big fan of Taker's. I guess during the Ministry was when I liked him the most, and Big Evil (the heel ABA) was kind of fun. Other than that, meh.

I disagree, I really love the Undertaker and I'd say he is the biggest and best star on Smackdown!

I watched Smackdown for the first time in a long time yesterday, and say Undertaker was one of my highlights. Granted that if I watched every week, maybe I would have been bored with it too, but for me it was nice.

I’m with Jordan X here...despite what the rest of you have said, nobody can dispute his wrestling prowess. He’s OBVIOUSLY a damn near perfect brawler AND ring technician who’s been around 17 years (give or take a day or so), who doesn’t fool around in the ring. He gets down to business, takes care of it, and leaves with his paycheck. He should be a role model to the younger superstars of how to stay out of trouble with drugs, drinking, 'roids and all that other stuff that seems to land the new guys in hot water with somewhat alarming regularity.
Now, I never said he was perfect, but he’s obviously the brightest shining star on SmackDown right now, and I just think it’s a crying fucking shame that Vince probably doesn’t have the courage or the decency to give a 17-year-veteran one more run with the belt. Even though tomorrow’s match would seemingly favor Taker in the environment he’s used to, Batista has been in HIAC, as well, and quite frankly I fear a swerve (i.e., a big “FUCK YOU” from Vince to all who are cheering on Taker tomorrow night, like myself) coming. However, I do feel that should Taker win the belt tomorrow, he should keep it at least until WrestleMania XXIV, where we could have the main event be like a tri-branded Unification match, where the ECW, World and WWE titles are all rolled in to one (because let’s face it, we all know none of these titles has a shred of it’s original legacy/lineage/dignity left in it after how Vince has watered them all down the last 6 years or so...), and have the brand split end. Then as Mania draws near it's close, Vince comes down, congratulates Taker, and Taker announces his retirement, the belt is vacated, and we start with a fresh slate with whoever's left on March 31st, 2008. |

I enjoy him in the ring, that's not my problem with him. It's just that cheesy ass fucking gimmick that I hate.
Also, would you really want to have a potentially HUGE match to unify THREE WORLD TITLES...just to have the winner vacate it right away? Seems like a squandered opportunity for a new flag bearer, if you ask me. |

I'm an Undertaker mark(obviously). But I really don't like the character he uses now. Basically because its the original Taker, but with a better move set. No promos, no actions, and therefore no real storylines.
When he was 'The Phenom' in 95-98ish i guess, his stories had meaning, like with Mankind and Kane for example. The Lord of Darkness character had stories and depth as well, with the ministry and trying to take over the WWF. ABA had meaning. He was more human, more relatable. And when he became heel, the general idea was that he wanted respect he felt was due. It made sense. Unforunatly now hes just a guy who walks slowly, has a long entrance(I prefered it when he'd only break out the effects from time to time, now its just cheesy and 'cartoonish') and he beats almost everyone anyway. Bring back satanist Taker, or at least turn him heel. My favourite part of this 'run' was when Heyman stole the urn and it teased a heel run, but it was only for like a week. They should at least do that kinda thing. The character he plays now would be better suited to a heel. |

Undertaker is one of the most underrated wrestlers there has been. He rarely comes up when people talk about legends and huge names like Austin, Rock, Hogan and Flair.
The guy is certainly the best bigman of all time, an amazing performer and lent so much to make a true gimmicky gimmick that never should have worked work, for over 15 years. He's the phenom and he's great. And he's been loyal as fuck to the WWE. BUT... with that being said, he's done all he can do. He's boring, and theres nothing left for him to do, other than put someone over huge on the way out of one of the longest, epic, most consistent careers ever. He should work a world title program with Edge through Wrestlemania and put him over and hang it the fuck up. |

His matches are shite.
He's too old and weak to do any actual moves and too big to actually have any done to him. His matches consist of a few holds and punches followed by some marks going nuts for moves that cruiserweights do all the time to no reaction. He should have been retired many years ago. |

I really beg to differ. The guy can still work matches. His whole career he's been underrated for his ability to work amazing matches, especially for a guy his size. Him and Kurt Angle went at it for just under an hour in a 5 star classic last year, and you're saying he should have retired years ago. I disagree, but I do agree he needs to retire very soon. |

I always resented guys like Hogan and Savage for hanging around so long and stinking shit up, and I guess it just annoys me to see some of the attitude era legends on track to do the same thing. I guess thats wrestling.
But with Taker I just feel he needs to get the fuck out. HBK plays a boring character now too, and he's just as old. They can both work matches still, but for some reason HBK feels more justified in being around still. Maybe it's just me. |

I don't particularly think his matches are amazing, but he really hasn't deteriorated much over time. When you can work on the same level you did a decade ago, with a couple of injuries and a bum hip, you're doing pretty good for yourself.
His character is one dimensional and cartoony, and I think most of the time he can do little but hurt the reputation of his opponents. On top of that, he's a douche. |

Not to change the subject, but I was talking to a friend about this the other day.
How the fuck do you end the Undertakers career in kayfabe? I mean, how do you even go about it? Lords of Darkness don't usually decide to move to Florida for retirement. |

haha Jason goes to hell style.
Then when Kane retires (the masked version of Kane in a buried alive match), Takers hand can come up from the grave and pull Kanes mask down |

I think best bet is having him buried alive.
Also, are they still planning on sending Umaga to Smackdown to feed to the Undertaker? That pisses me off. If Undertaker does have to continue on I'd at least like to see him as a heel. |

Can you imagine Undertaker if he was a Bloque Man?
I don't even want to see him wrestle. it's not that he's bad, it's just that he only wrestles on PPVs. You use tv to build a PPV, but Taker is so boring that I can't get behind him. Probably because he's always facing the likes of Mark Henry and Khali. |

Well it's like the true old school Taker. When he used to not talk or have any depth and face the likes of Yokozuna and Giant Gonzalez.
I also apologize to Yokozuna and Giant Gonzalez, who look like HBK and Angle compared to their modern day equivalents for the purposes of this comparison |
