Paris, FRANCE — le 20 Novembre 2007 — Ubisoft annonce aujourd’hui l’arrivée prochaine de Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Vegas 2 sur consoles de nouvelle génération et PC. Confié à l’équipe d’Ubisoft Montréal, déjà responsable du maintes fois primé Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas, ce nouvel opus sortira en mars 2008. Il s’agira du sixième épisode de cette marque culte qui fêtera ses 10 ans l’an prochain, avec déjà plus de 16 millions d’unités vendues au compteur.



Selon Yves Guillemot, PDG d’Ubisoft, « Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas a fait l’effet d’une bombe dans l’univers du jeu vidéo en 2006, en y introduisant d’un seul coup avance technologique et innovation en terme de gameplay ». « Nous sommes certains que Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 fera aussi figure de pionnier dans le domaine très concurrentiel des jeux de tir, et ce pour le plus grand bonheur des fans de la marque Rainbow Six ».



Le prédécesseur de Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 a remporté des prix prestigieux, tels que Meilleur Jeu de Tir et Meilleur Jeu en ligne ; ce nouvel épisode entend repousser encore plus loin les frontières du gameplay et de la qualité de l’image qui font la renommée de la saga. Les joueurs seront confrontés à une campagne solo offrant des possibilités tactiques inédites, à travers Las Vegas. Le nouvel opus réserve également des surprises de taille en modes co-op et versus, et permettra une interaction sans précédent entre les versions solo et multi-joueurs.

Basically it says they announced R6:V2 for next gen systems and PC. Ubi Montreal is handling the game again, then they went over how great Vegas one was, how it won awards, and how the new one will be the front runner of the genre.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Announced
Ubisoft Montreal doubles down.

November 20, 2007 - Ubisoft Montreal announced today that it is developing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, a sequel to the Sin City-based tactical shooter released in 2006.

The game, which Ubisoft said is planned for "next-generation consoles and PC," is scheduled for release in March 2008 to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Rainbow Six gaming franchise.

In an announcement today, Ubisoft didn't reveal much about the upcoming game but promised improved graphics, new gameplay features and new Vegas settings. The tactical solo campaign will return, and the sequel will build on its predecessor's popular multiplayer modes.


What happens in Vegas happens again in Vegas.


Co-op and adversarial multiplayer will return, and Vegas 2 will provide "unprecedented interaction between the solo and multiplayer modes," Ubisoft said.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas took the gaming world by storm in 2006 thanks to its technological advances and gameplay innovations," said Yves Guillemot, president and chief executive officer at Ubisoft. "We are convinced that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will remain a pioneer in the highly competitive first person shooter genre, bringing more of what Rainbow Six fans love to the table."

Holy fuck I cannot wait for this. I thought that CoD4 was rough to be patient with, but I've put so many hours into the first one, I already know it's going to kill me. !!!

Sounds like they're shooting for March 08 to coincide with the anniversary of the series.
