How many writer for WWE?
Do each wrestler have a writer? Or do the WWE share 1 or 2 or something for everybody
To me the WWE need to allow for more writers becaue - I think - they don't hire very, many.

But seriously, there is a team of writers for each show. The size varies, but it sure as fuck isn't 1:1

What do it require to be a writer? Do the WWE hire people that are in wrestling or do they hire people that are from HollyWood? Or something else

WWE hasn't actually required wrestling creds for a few years now. A background in writing TV entertainment is preferred, but they've hired writers who wrote for Nickelodeon before, as well as a movie writer or two.
Why? You looking to become a writer? |

I think, removing the McMahon factor from WWE would greatly improve the booking. TNA's a little tougher, but similar problem. But then, Vince wants a more Hollywood image, and has hired TV and movie writers with limited experience in the business. That's also a problem, because left to their own devices, their wrestling know-how is virtually nonexistent. Probably still an improvement, though. There are a lot of bad stories, but Vince writes according to what he likes. The amazing part is they yanked the Katie Vick story because of the ratings drop. Wrestling now averages far lower than any such drop accounts for. With Cena being booed, and so on, they haven't bothered to, you know, change things. It's Vince's personal sandbox, and he's pissed in it because he can. |

The WWE should hire HollyWood writers right now because they on strike. The WWE -Vince- then let them do the writing with no interuptions from him. When you think of it, this is the properly time to hire some top notch writers to do this. PLus this guys are angry at the HollyWood so they will be focused.
Just a idea. |

Actually, I would kind of mark out if they hired 30 Rock writes and made Vince more a Jack Donaghy
Well no, if they hired 30 Rock writers who then murdered Vince and got Alec Baldwin to replace him yeah |

Writers from the IWC would be a worse idea than giving Vince Russo carte Blanche or Heyman a blank check.

Only in the sense that watching Vince piss away ratings already is entertaining.
Smarks are, by and large, morons who are about as in touch with wrestling as Vince is. While it's fun watching retards ruin wrestling, it wouldn't make for a good show. |

I think within 20 years the Mcmahons will have dropped wwe and thus WWE itself will be gone, something else will takeover.
I wonder if during the era we thought was so great people complained like we do now? |

Booker 1: Alienoid, the ratings are going down on the Doug Basham segments. Maybe he shouldn't be holding the World Championship. Alienoid: What? What are you saying? I don't understand! Why is everyone around here an idiot but me? It'd actually be pretty funny to see the crowds go dead for some of the booking choices. |

No seriously, smart IWC could take suggestions for the IWC, and use them, and actually know when fans hate something.

As for taking suggestions from IWC, I think it's best if they didn't.
Gaguing the popularity of something is one thing, but actually taking suggestions is something completely different, and rather a bad idea. Not just here. |

You have to book for the mainstream, not the small chunk that makes up the 'smart' part of the IWC. Sure, we may think our ideas are awesome, but 98% of them would never be accepted by the mainstream.
The thing is, most of the armchair bookers never take the casual audience into account, which is why someone from the IWC booking would be a terrible idea. |

The WWE books to egos. They always have, and they always will. For years they booked shows around the egos of Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. Then it was the egos of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. During the 90's, WWE booked for The Rock and Stone Cold. Today, obviously, the WWE books around the egos of Triple H, Undertaker and Vince McMahon himself.
The problem is that only some of these egos drew ratings, and so the other angles surrounding them looked great or bad in direct comparison. Rock and Austin were ratings winners for the last 3-4 years of the 90's, and then for a couple years into the Millenium. Austin vs. McMahon/Rock was one of the greatest angles of all time. But who can honestly say that Mark Henry/Mae Young/The Hand was really any better written than the Hornswoggle/Vince angle has been? Or compare the Val Venis/Kai En Tai/Porno segments with the Santino/Maria/Simmons skits. They're of the same value. It's just that the crap we had to watch back then was smoothed over with the highly entertaining, smart, energetic feuds of Austin, The Rock, the Corporation and DX. Today, we don't have ANY of those interesting feuds (Orton vs. HBK will not, ever, ever, EVER be anywhere near the caliber of Austin vs. McMahon/Rock, and John Cena and Batista have both yet to have that one, spark inducing feud), so the Hornswoggle crap and the Diva Search crap really stinks up the joint much more. The problem with the writers and with Vince is that they cater to these egos, and they don't allow the fans to see the matches we want to see. Why did Triple H and Randy Orton wrestle three matches against each other at No Mercy? Why didn't someone else get a chance to main event (Jeff Hardy, CM Punk or Kennedy)? I'll tell you why. Because the egos in charge of the show said that Jeff Hardy or Kennedy wouldn't be as good as Triple H vs. Orton. They're not proven main eventers, and so they are never given the chance to be main eventers. They are, however, established stars in professional wrestling. And if there's one thing that "the Blue Chipper" Rocky Maivia and "the Ringmaster" Steve Austin have shown me, it's that it doesn't take much to go from established star to main event superstar. Obviously, this can really only be done with someone who has that special something, but the aforementioned names seem to have something that the fans really like. Trying to do this with someone like Doug Basham would be INSANE. Someone like CM Punk, who outpopped D-X at Survivor Series, seems like a much more likely candidate. The problem is that the WWE, Vince McMahon, and the egos in charge won't allow for them to break through that barrier. I sometimes wonder if all of these injuries are God's way to trying to give these younger up and comers a break, as well as giving us a break as fans of the product, to hopefully see something better. |
