I use Cyberlinx Power Producer (mainly because I got it for free when I bought a new computer).
It has its limitations but for basic conversion of avi files to burn onto DVD's and menu creations it's very user friendly. See if you can download a copy via a torrent or Limewire, it's a good starter program. Here's a link to a Power Producer Torrent, make sure you read the comments for install instructions: http://www.mininova.org/tor/501025 Last edited by KYR; 01-30-2008 at 06:40 PM. |

Okay...PART III...
Video compression. A file I'm wanting to burn is almost literally a smidget too big to fit on my DVD+R. How do I compress the video's file size down just a little? |

Are you now using Power Producer?
If so, go into your Configuration Settings and select "Smartfit". Irrespective of how large the file is, it will compress the file to fit the DVD. If the file is huuuuuge, then you may want to think about using double-sided DVD's so you don't lose too much quality in the compression. Otherwise you can try editing the video file i.e. getting rid of the credits etc. |

DVD-ROM just reads things, you need a DVD+/-R to do anything related to this thread
