computer audio help needed
My father was nice enough to build a computer for me and it runs great except for one thing. I cant get the sounds to be louder than a whisper. My sound cards works and the realtek hd manger is saying everything is fine.

The only thing I can think of right now is check the Windows volume control, but I'm sure you've checked that.
What kind of set up are you using? 2 speakers? 5 speakers? |

I have checked that and I am using 2 basic computer speakers. The only thing I can think of is that I might need powered speakers but I have never heard of that.

Go into sound options through user control panel, and change the speaker settings and volume, sometimes they are different, and the output jacks are on likely "Cd wave" and try again.

They are basic comp speakers made by compaq. I have them plugged into the speaker inlet in the back and when they are plugged in it shows up in the Realtek HD Audio Manager so I know the connection is being made.

Play a song, and have them unplugged, then try them in every jack, there may be one going to your video card, if so, place there (very bottom of back of computer) and go to sound options and use rear output.

My best guess is to ask someone who works at a computer repair shop in a normal convo.
