Wednesday,March 10,2004 - KayfabeMan recaps:
"HBK" Shawn Michaels on FNC's 'Fox and Friends' **After missing out on Ric Flair on FSN's "Cold Pizza" due to repeatedly switching back & forth to this shitty excuse for a show; slightly after 8:40 AM Shawn Michaels comes out (after a clip of him zipping down to the ring from WM is shown) for what should be a brief & "exciting" segment. Shawn immediately plugs the 3-way at Wrestlemania 20. Says he started watching wrestling at age twelve & knew right away that he wanted to do it when he grew up. The male F&F TV host (Brian Kilmeade) asks who was wrestling when Shawn first tuned in,and Michaels states that it was Tully Blanchard & Wahoo McDaniel. Brian then says he had different wrestlers that he watched, like Bruno Sammartino, Bugsy McGraw and others. Shawn then says he grew up in South Texas,so they didn't have cable right off the bat.Says when cable came out, then he got to see Backlund, Flair, and all the guys from Atlanta. Says he spent all Saturday afternoons watching wrestling. They discuss his injury,he says in early 2000 he had his L4 and L5 fused together, and has 2 screws and 2 plates in him. Says his "comeback" was a "spiritually motivated" thing, and he feels great now.He says that there is no risk to re-injure that particular injury. They talk about his dad being in the US Airforce, and he says he used to move around alot. Says he was born in Arizona,& 2 months later they moved to Great Britain for a while. After that he moved somewhere else, and then wound up in Texas. They do a game to close the segment where they do fantasy matches and have Shawn pick a winner. Governor Arnold Schwickenheimer -v- Governor Jesse Ventura He says that Governor Arnold could beat Jesse Ventura easy. Rosie O'Donnell -v- Martha Stewart Says that "size doesn't matter"; Martha Stewart would win it. F&F Host Brian Kilmeade -v- Pro Athlete Brian Boitano That gets a laugh from Shawn & the crew; he picks Kilmeade. He then plugs RAW and Wrestlemania 20 on PPV,and done.... |
