Give Ted Dibiase THE BELT
It has been said around these forums that the Million Dollar Man is one of the best wrestlers/characters to never win the big one (excluding purchasing it from Andre). If you could go back in time, how and when would you give him the belt and what kind of run(s) would he have? Would he still form Money Inc?

1988 was the year where putting the belt on him would of made the most sense

Nearest I can figure it would have had to have been a short run between Manias, because I wouldn't change WMIV's tournament, Hogan v. Macho, or Hogan v. Warrior. Maybe have Dibiase beat Macho at SummerSlam '88, or keep the Mega Powers v. Mega Bucks with the stip that if Mega Bucks win, Dibiase gets the belt. He'd have to drop it at the Rumble though, and that probably wouldn't have been enough time to get the heat between Macho and Hogan unless it was done concurrently but subtley.

Dibiase could have taken the title from savage, leading Savage to start his tensions with hogan over Liz and losing the title (have Hulk Involved) and have him hold it for a bit, lose it bck to savage before WM5.

I know it was a few years after his big heat, but I would have built his character back up and have him defeat Ultimate Warrior for the belt at Rumble 91 and drop it to Hogan at WM7 rather than dragging Sarge out of retirement.

Apparently. He'd gone into semi-retirement when he left the WWE in the early 80s anyway, to look after his father. He had been working part time in the AWA... well... full-time "part time"... you know what I mean.... (ful time in the AWA = part time compared to the WWF) I think he had fully retired when the AWA went under, until Vinnie Mac came calling, in desperate need of a top line heel when his reportedly intended WrestleMania VII main event of Hogan-Warrior II was cancelled.

Supposely Dibiase was gonna win the WM4 tourney. But HTM refused to drop the I-C title to Macho Man as planned and HTM threatened to show up in the NWA with the belt. To appease Savage Vince had him win the World Title Tourney instead of Dibiase.

NeanderCarl was right Sarge was in semi-retirement and I heard that he was supposed to fill some depth in the heels and prolly get a I-C title run but the plans changed and he elevated to the ME scene.
