Nice feud developing? (SD spoilers)

MVP vs Bats history in the past 2 months around.

Match 1

Very good match. Ended in a double count out, the match made both stars look equal.

Match 2

Squash match.

Bats just dominates MVP. This was the week of the Elimination thingy.

Elimination Match:

MVP (Along with everyone besides Bats and Taker) gets squashed.

Match 3

MVP cuts a promo saying he is hurt, but not that bad. Bats is hurting a lot more, since he was in at the start of the match.

A awesome worked match, with MVP getting mainly all the offense. About 90% way through the match Bats finally gets some offence by countering a move. Gets a few Spinebusters and then a Batista Bomb for the win.

Nice feud developing? Discuss.

Side Notes:
I feel like I am missing a match, a week after their first one. Although I am not 100% sure.

Why wasn't the SD match at No Way Out just a 1v1 against the Undertaker and Batista?

Edit:
Yes I was SD when MVP is on. When he comes on I tune in. When he goes off, the channel gets changed. Big MVP mark here.

This is the problem with Smackdown and I see it being a huge problem for MVP down the line unless they switch things up drastically.

Smackdown only has 2 over faces. Rey would be the third, and even if he were around he's so small and underdogish that he lacks the credibility needed to put someone over.

So for MVP to get over as a heel champion on Smackdown, he'd have to go over Undertaker or Batista. The problem is they're built as such monsters that they're "unbeatable". The whole show is really, everyone is either a lummox of a monster or a cruiserweight. There's no medium since all the normal guys are on Raw.

Raw is full of average heavyweight sized faces like HHH, Hardy, HBK and Cena who, even though pushed hard and credible, can be seen as beatable for a guy of MVP's size, skill, and accomplishments in kayfabe.

For Taker and Batista, he'd have to completely screw them like Edge always has in the past and that does him no favors. Especially as a first time champion and rising heel star who needs the credibility from his title win more than just the title

Not to mention, Rey's been jobbed out during Eddie's second title run. He barely survived most of his matches.

But yeah, a lot of people tend to hit this sort of a snag, and right now, unless you're a monster yourself, Smackdown doesn't hold much for you in terms of potential as a heel. I had the same problem with Hassan, for the record. Him versus the Undertaker was a scenario where I wanted to see HAssan look like a big bad heel, but couldn't see him doing anything that would make him look impressive, because the Undertaker was such a giant badass.

Read the spoilers. Tune in 10 min before I think he will be on. See what match/segment is on and then just use common sense when I should tune back in.

For it to be a fued there has to be competition. So far it's been Batista being fed MVP over and over again.

I like Ant. He supports is Australian and supports Val Venis, I believe.

I like MVP and Batista's matches. They are usually surprisingly good, and contain some great spots. I love it when MVP steps up on his opponent's leg, then kicks them in the face, like a big boot version of the shining wizard. I fucking love it.

MVP should have defeated Batistia via countout in their original match, I believe. They had just done CM Punk defeating Chavo by countout, and Batista winning his match by countout was kind of a moment that was too similar for my liking. MVP being heelish, and somehow getting in the ring before Batista would have made a nice little story for him.

I also believe that MVP should have defeated Batista before the Elimination Chamber, albeit via disqualification. Batista was out for revenge for what MVP did to Ric Flair, so Dave getting DQ'd for being too rough with the United States Champion would have been great.

Logically speaking, given that Batista had more of a trek during the Elimination Chamber than MVP, the US Champion could have logically snuck out a nice little victory over Batista this past week, using the US belt behind the referee's back, or something.

All three matches going to MVP is a little extreme of course, but I'm getting sick of seeing "Batista defeated MVP in a non-title match" every time the SmackDown! spoilers come out.

One way to circumvent that is too show that MVP is immediately in their league. I can't think of a way to do this purely with Batista at the moment, but Undertaker matches present possibilities. Taker does all these "athletic moves" for such a huge man, but MVP is THE athlete in the WWE right now. MVP doing all of Taker's athletic moves in a match with him would be pretty sweet, I imagine doing a small dance while walking the ropes doing the Old School.

Dave is a much harder situation because they'd have to MVP straight out-wrestle him as well as having a more impactful finish, because Porter's finisher doesn't look badass at all.

I thought the match this past friday was really terrible. Some people just don't have good chemistry, and as impressive as MVP can be, he can't get a good match out of Bats.

The stuff MVP did last year with Benoit was outstanding, MVP works better against smaller technical guys IMO.

I think after the post-WM draft, MVP should hopefully have more to work with and be able to move up the ladder a bit more, he has so much potential that the WWE should really give him the ball and see what happens.
