WrestleMania Predictions (aka how many times can we post CENA WINS! in one thread)
![]() PREDICTIONS John Cena wins after pinning both men. He FUs Orton, and counters a pedigree into another FU. Cena covers both men to win the title and ruin another WrestleMania. (I am dead serious in my prediction). Edge tries to end the streak, and comes pretty damn close thanks to Edgehead interference but Undertaker does what only "The Phenom" can and chokeslams both the Edgeheads and Tombstone's Edge for the pinfall and his second World Heavyweight Championship. Mayweather's annoying promise is fulfilled when Floyd broke Big Show's nose at No Way Out and at WrestleMania he breaks Big Show's jaw. My vote for match of the night. Shawn Michaels gives Ric Flair his best match since the Steamboat feud and Shawn Michaels wins a classic with Sweet Chin Music. Money in the Bank will have its first two-time winner when Mr. Kennedy climbs the ladder to once again get on the cusp of the main event push he has been waiting for. Let's hope he can stay healthy this time. Batista wins after a half-ass spinebuster. Batista will then go on to get one more chance to get his World Championship back at BACKLASH. Chavo retains. Bloody and violent, Finlay avenges Hornswoggle in this "slobbor knocker." Hornswoggle will interfere somehow to stop Vince from hurting Finlay. Maria and generic slut with no personality #6784383 win big at WrestleMania's first ever Playboy BunnyMania Lumberjill Tag Team Match. (I also have a feeling Melina will have a nipslip at the grandest stage of them all!) Last edited by James Steele; 03-16-2008 at 08:43 PM. |

WWE Has finally smartened up, after Cena F-Us Trips, He turns to a Orton who has been busted open and bleeding, RKO!!!!!!!!!!! Edge give everything he has, but in the end, its not enough, Taker wins with the piledriver Mayweather breaks a jaw Match of the Year - Flair takes two sweet chin musics, before he finally bows out. After Jericho sends Kennedy and Punk crashing off the ladder, he sets one up himself, and dangling after it has been knocked away by Punk, falls with it. Batista, I dont care how. Chavo retains. Finlay, repeated shilly shots, beats JBL to a pulp The two girls on the right. |

There are not 24 men on the ECW roster. This show looks absolutely crap on paper. It would be an OK Cyber Sunday, but this is terrible for Wrestlemania.

I think Flair/Michels will be worth the price of admission. I wish they could just do a broadway with it, and then have Flair officially retire.

Really? I think the RAW title match looked better but I think Smackdown has it this year. MITB this year looks better and aside from those three matches, the only one that looked good last year was MVP/Benoit. This year we have HBK/Flair, Finlay/JBL and a potentially good big man Umaga/Batista match. I dunno, I think this year looks pretty good. In all honesty, the only WrestleMania cards that had me thinking "fuck this card looks good" were 2000 (I was a mark, mind you) X-Seven (still a mark but c'mon it's X7), XIX, XX and 21.

John Cena will win the WWE Championship when he makes Randy Orton tap out to the STFU. A big deal will be made about Triple H not being involved in the fall. Edge and Taker will have a surprisingly involving match (I am usually never into anything Taker does), and we'll see Edge Spear the Dead Man out of his boots, and get a very close two count. Eventually The Undertaker will get a Tombstone for the pin, and his second World Heavyweight Championship, however. Don't ask me why, but I can't see Shawn Michaels being the guy to retire Ric Flair. The match has not been advertised as the main event it should be. You'd think the greatest professional wrestler of all-time (in many people's opinion) would have a problem with Floyd Mayweather being in an advertised main event as opposed to what he knows will be his last match. And I believe HBK is honest when he says that he does not want to be the guy to retire Flair. I think we'll see Flair get the win, and a moment where JR, King and HBK all sort of realise that Space Mountain was only the tip of the iceberg, and that the Nature Boy still has gas in the tank. I'll still be picking HBK in Tipsters, most likely, just to be safe. Floyd Mayweather would not come into the WWE just to lose. Unfortunately, he is now a heel, so I think we'll see Show protected somehow. A heel turn by one of the WWE guys seems likely. Mayweather goes over, anyhow. Finlay beats JBL to a pulp, with Vince and Hornswoggle both coming out to try and make the match entertaining. This will be a "feel good" victory, I guess. Finlay should use his old music. Money in the Bank is tricky, because all the guys could use it, which makes it a difficult match to call. I'll rule out Carlito, because he seems there just to bump. John Morrison is a guy the WWE likes, but has been out of the loop recently, with his tag team stuff and all. CM Punk said that if he wins, he'll go after the ECW Championship, so I can't see the WWE wasting the title shot on that, even though they could change Punk's direction and all. Mr. Kennedy won it last year, and while he could win again, and just go back on his "I'll use it in the WrestleMania main event" statement, I don't think they will. Shelton Benjamin is on the rise, but he's still not quite there, and the WWE doesn't seem nearly as interested in him as they are some of the other heels in the match. It's down to Chris Jericho and MVP, in my opinion. Intercontinental Champion vs. United States Champion. While Jericho could use the win, because he hasn't won on PPV in 2008, he actually seems to be on the rise by himself. He's been World Champion three times before, and they can always rebuild him without too much effort. MITB seems more like an initial building device. MVP has gotten two back-to-back wins against Batista, has been made to look on par with the ECW Champion, and is obviously one of the guys the WWE is grooming for the future. The MITB stipulation also seems to favour a heel character, specifically one like MVP's. My prediction is that the WWE United States Champion wins Money in the Bank. Batista is higher on the totem pole than Umaga, but RAW is higher on the totem pole than SmackDown!. There are plans to make Umaga more credible, but there are also plans to move him to SmackDown!. My gut says Batista, without hesitation, but the more I think about it, the more I can picture Umaga winning. Especially if William Regal is at Umaga's side. I can just imagine Batista being drafted over to RAW, and kicking Regal's ass a few times after Mania, and easily getting his heat back. I'm going to pick Batista, though, possibly with a Batista Bomb, avoiding the expected Spinebuster finish, even if Dave needs to use it out of the corner. I really don't care about Bunnymania. While Beth Phoenix & Candice Michelle should win, Maria & Candice Michelle seem like the safe picks. Mickie James should help out with the win, and continue her feud with Beth, but that's not going to happen. Another option would be Santino Marella helping the heels win, but that's also not going to happen. My bet is the clean win for Maria & Candice. |

So a quick summary:
John Cena (new WWE Champion) The Undertaker (new World Heavyweight Champion) Matt Hardy (new ECW Champion) Floyd Mayweather Ric Flair (still going) Finlay Batista MVP (new Mr. Money in the Bank) Maria & Candice Michelle (still useless whores) |

I was pretty interested in Batista/Undertaker for some odd reason. I think what really gets me about this card isn't the lack of potentially decent matches, but the lack of build for some of them. The JBL/Finlay feud just doesn't do it for me (seeing as to how Hornswoggle is not an actual child as they are portraying him) and Batista/Umaga just came out of nowhere. The build all around has just felt underwhelming.

It's almost as if they forgot that they were going to have to book a Wrestlemania this year. As if it just snuck up on them. Usually around Royal Rumble, things start gearing up towards Wrestlemania, but look at the Rumble card as opposed to what's actually happening now:
Randy Orton v. Jeff Hardy (Hardy's not even on the card now) Edge v. Rey Mysterio (Mysterio's out) MVP v. Flair (Inconsequential) JBL v. Jericho (They don't even talk to each other anymore) Even the Rumble match itself doesn't matter, as the winner 'cashed in' his shot at the next PPV (since when has THAT been allowed to happen?). I dunno, I'm just rambling now, and I'm really hoping for a good show...but fuck. Where is the long term booking? |

This one is either gonna go to Cena or Triple H; there's no way Orton is walking out with the gold. Since Cena got the win at 22 and also eliminated Hunter from the Rumble, I'm gonna go with Hunter pinning Orton to take the belt. It's going to be a good, close match, and Edge is going to pull out all the stops to try and beat the Deadman, but Undertaker is once again walking out of WrestleMania as the new World Heavyweight Champion. I honestly don't care... Mayweather though, since I don't imagine him coming into the company for this one match and losing. I can't wait to see this one live. It's going to be amazing. Shawn pins Ric with a roll-up in a classic encounter that sends the Nature Boy off in a blaze of showstopping glory like only HBK can procure. This is a great MITB match because there are at least four different people who could win: MVP, Jericho, Kennedy and Punk. I think Jericho can attain another title shot with the briefcase. It's too early for Punk, and MVP is doing just fine as the US Champion, so I'm going to give it to Kennedy as the first time 2-time MITB winner. Honestly, I'm actually looking forward to this match. It's something fresh for both guys, and I think Umaga will pull a good contest out of the Animal, even if the end is his shoulders getting pinned after a Batista Bomb. Chavo to retain, I suppose. I have no idea who is going to fill this 21 man battle royal. It'll be the big cathartic ending for Finlay and Hornswoggle as they finally get the best of mean old Mister McMahon, and Finlay gets the pin on JBL. Maria wins, we all lose. |
