How do I remove the text from desktop icons?

I've seen a few screenshots with the text gone from the recycle bin. I have Vista Manager, but I cannot find anything in there about it.

Rename it and hold down Alt and hit 255.

I download what it says, but it's a .reg file and doesn't ask me to do anything, just opens as a .txt

Start > Run > "regedit" > File > Import... > Select file

ok, it was imported. nothing has changed, but i guess i need to restart for it to take effect.
