K so are we going to have some sort of NHL tournament?

Since all of us who have been playing thought it would be a hot idea, I figure we might as well start some discussion on it. I remember Kapoutman saying that he could put up a page on Kapoutland or something for it, which would be hella cool.

Basically I'm not sure how it would work. We could just do it like a "play-offs" type thing, have best-of-7 series with people and all that. How the matches are determined, I have no idea (hence the thread for discussing possibilities).

So yes. Before everything, if you're interested, reply here so we'll have a good idea of how many people will actually be involved. I'd assume there'd be roughly 8-12 or so, maybe more, depending. So maybe we can get a lot of people, then somehow determine who the top 8 are, and go from there.

SO YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, reply here if you're interested, and give some suggestions of how it should be run and whatnot.

However again, let's get back to the tournament please. Still would like some more input from people about what rules and shit they want. When I play with others, I usually play it on 10 minute periods with the difficult skill level. Actually, I'll screenshot my "game setup" screen and post how I usually have my options set up. People can then agree/disagree on those options, and we'll get some rules set up for every game and whatnottttt

I tried downloading this NHL thing from Soulseek to see what the fuss was about but the person I was downloading it off went offline

K for the rules that's nothing too much to discuss really. Is everybody cool with how that's set? Or do people want anything different?




Also, not really as important, but obviously the goalie/player boost should be at 0 apiece. I think having line changes on is better too (but certainly up to debate and for a vote amongst everyone), as it gives teams with a less-than-stellar top line a better chance to compete against say, Vancouver. Also, I think that the manual/auto shot aim should be personal preference, as it only really affects the players' ability, and not the game itself.

Oh yeah. I just realized, since it's a tournament and all, the OT thing definitely needs to change. Should we just do it traditional NHL playoff style? (continuous OT 5-on-5 until a goal) Or would everyone like something else?

icing - dumping the puck in from your side of the middle red line and it going all the way down to behind the net resulting in a defenseman from the opposing team touching it

offside - when one of your teammates without the puck goes into the opposing zone and you enter with the puck after them

LOL yeah you go offside all the time

The guy with the puck has to be the first to cross the opponent's blueline, if one of your other guys has crossed it beforehand (and is still past it) and you go past it, it is offside.

Like in 2v2, when me and Toni rush down the ice, and he has the puck say, I have to slow down when I get to the blueline so he crosses first, then I follow him in.

It flashes up under the score when you are offside too

Oh and those settings are all good, if we are going best of 7 games, then Continuous OT is the way to go

No, that would be offside

In this case, think of the blueline as the defence in football, passing it to a player who has crossed all the defence/blueline is offside

Oh yeah and you;ve got the 2 line pass too, but i'm not sure which lines it applies to, all of them i think, so passing it over 2 lines = whistle too
