I'm in a Charles Mingus sort of mood...
Recommend me some good shit. I've got a few records, but I can't find them for the life of me. Similar acts also appreciated.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”--John Rogers |

Theres a record from the 50's with him, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker and Max Roach. Its called Live at Massey Hall. The whole thing is just really.... I wanna say swingin' without sounded like a jaaaaaaazz cat.
Ray Brown with Milt Jackson is one of the best recordings of a double bass player I ever heard also. |
