Post During the WWF/WCW war, who's side were you on?

I was a hard-core WWF lover/WCW hater. I used to get into big heated debates with WCW fans back then.

WCW was what I watched when I first started, so I stuck with that. Though I would switch to WWF during commercials on Mondya nights.

I started with WWF, but would watch WCW occasionally. This didn't really affect me anyways since I didn't have cable when this was going on so I watched whatever was on at my friend's house.

I started with WCW but converted to WWF about six months into being a fan. I did still follow WCW and was a pretty big nWo mark but was mostly a WWF fan.

I was actually more of an ECW fan.

I watched the first hour of Nitro and then switched to Raw (except when Jericho, Eddie, or Benoit was on.) The signing of the Radicalz ended the Monday Night War for me, because I had no reason to watch WCW.

In 1998 I enjoyed both equally. After 1998 WWF all the way. 97 was when I got back into watching wrestling full time so i just watched everything I could. I don't think we got much WCW around here prior to 1997. If we did, there was no consistency with when it was on. I'm pretty sure it was like that all throughout the 90s with WCW.

I didn't really have a side, but I preffered the ECW product to WWF/WCW. After that I liked the WWF main event scene and the WCW under card. I'd record Nitro and watch RAW as it aired (cause WCW liked to spoil RAW.) But I watched all of the PPVs. So I was equally devoted to all I guess. But I liked ECW the most.

I was a WCW mark and didn't even think about touching the WWF's stuff until about 1998, after seeing Undertaker throw Mankind of the Hell in the Cell at KOTR, I became intrigued. I was still a major WCW fan, but respected the WWF as its competitor, and switched over to RAW during commercials on Nitro.

I think it was the WCW vs. nWo: World Tour game that made me such a huge WCW fan to begin with. It was the game, and then the merchandising, and then the nWo and Sting and Goldberg that kept me hooked.

WWF and WCW were pretty even at the beginning and then later on I found myself watching Nitro and barely watching WWF then around the time the Rock came around I started to watch both equally.

I was brought up with WWF as my mam is a longtime wrestling fan so it was always them. For me when I was younger WCW was always something to bridge the gap between Cartoon Network ending and WWF Raw Is Raw beginning. Thats not to say I didn't enjoy it but we got like an hour a week of Nitro and that was about it so there wasn't really much to go on wheras Sky Sports shown pretty much everything WWF was doing.

I was always a big WCW Fan, as it was all we really got here, besides WWF Superstars.

Started getting into the WWF again around Wrestlemania 14, but still more of a WCW Fan.

During the war, Nitro and Raw were head to head on Friday nights in the UK. TNT had no repeats though so if I wanted to watch any WCW, I had to watch them first. It was better that way anyway because you could watch Nitro, then Thunder right after it and when that ended, Sky Sports showed the Raw repeat so it was 6 hours straight of wrestling. Dunno how the hell I did that now I look back.

My first live show was WCW. Out of the two, I saw NWA/WCW first but WWF got me hooked on wrestling.

Wasn't a fan until 2000, but always was in support of wwf as all my friends were and understood how hated wcw was, strange looking back how i now realize how important wcw were and don't hate them so much now. It was important to have competition..

WCW. I did watch WWF just as much, and ECW etc whenever I could get hold of it, but I was mainly a WCW guy.

I watched WWF mostly, except when WCW Thunder was on Thursday nights I would watch that. But then WWF made Smackdown, and I stopped watching Thunder. I really must say I was a total WWF fan, it was just about all watched.

I was a WCW guy, i didnt hate the WWE or anything but i just used to love WCW. I started watchin wrestling around 94' when i was about 9, i going through the channels and came across WCW on TNT and was addictted to it, watched it weekly on a friday night (as i was in UK) all the way through until about 2000, then i started watchin wwf more because WCW was very awful after 2000 lol. I always kept up with WWF but it was WCW for me.

In the UK, they didn't go head to head for a long time (Raw would first air at 6pm on Sky Sports on a Friday, with Nitro on TNT at 7pm the same night). When they eventually did air at the same time when they moved to late night slots, there were plenty of repeats of both on the same night, so it wasn't really an issue of choosing.

I was WWF loyal all the way having been well-groomed since the very early 90s on it (with limited access to WCW programming until Nitro began airing over here in early 1996), but even I had to admit that WCW had the better product in 1996 through mid 1997. I was still rooting for WWF to fight back, though, and when they did they blew even WCW's 1996 prime out of the water with the Attitude product,

Until Nitro began airing, all we got was a watered down showing of WCW Worldwide at stupid times of the night. Network TV mind (it was on ITV Late Night, on something like a Thursday night at 2am)

I still remember Sky absolutely cutting Raw to shreds in 1996 too, and they stopped airing PPVs live, cutting them also... I think at Survivor Series 1996 they took a good, competitive, hard hitting Undertaker vs Mankind match, cut about 13 minutes out of it, and aired it as a virtual squash match with Taker absolutely dominating Foley and barely any brawling.

The mid 90s were a dire time to be a WWF fan in the UK, thanks to Sky Sports butchering it. They didn't like the edgier characters like Goldust, Mankind and the lesbian angle with Sable and Marlena. Christ knows what they thought a few years later when Austin and Attitude were running wild, but it had a late night slot by then anyway.

I started watching wrestling when i saw austin vs. michaels at WM14 on pay per view at my aunts house since she was a wrestling fan and i decided to try it out, i watched raw the next day and was hooked to wwf from then on, i watched wcw a few times during 98 but was mostly disinterested.

I started watching in late 1999 when I'd just turned 9 because my friends got me into WWF. I never watched any WCW. I knew of them, but always looked at WWF as the superior brand because it was on satellite/cable TV and it was always on on Sky Sports so I watched that. Shortly after I joined my friends in being a fan, they all ditched me and went off the product! And now nearly 9 years later, here I am the lone wrestling fan.

I was never intrigued with WCW though. I knew it existed, I just always thought it was the amateurish alternative. We used to flick the channel over to it occasionally and laugh our asses off at it, constantly pointing out how shit it was compared to WWF. We just thought the set, the ring, and the whole set up of it looked really lame compared to WWF.

I had been to 54 ECW shows when it closed, and I drove to 9 PPV/Big Events.

I loved them more than most will ever know

I was far more into WCW, but I watched both. I also ended up watching the ass end of ECW by the time they got their TNN deal. Disclaimers should be made because I was a kid and they had the more wholesome product, but it is what it is.

God, I was such a Jerry Lynn mark.
