At first I was like what the hell is going on? They probably didn't know what to call it and wanted to capitalize on the fame of the first film by using the title.

Looks much better than the first one, looks like it has a story too. But why call it Ong-Bak? I guess the series is one based on 'Real Fighting' rather than story, which is a neat take on the process I guess. Tony Jaa's been hitting the books for this one. Kung Fu now? Nice.

I think thats good and bad. Because of Jaa's Muay Thai, his first two movies had a unique style to them. I'm worried that with this mish mash of styles, it may end up losing that, and be just another kung-fu movie.

Which I'll still enjoy, but not as much as his first two films.

Last I heard, Jaa was making a movie based on the capoiera style. Would have rather seen that.

I just hope Jaa gets his english and acting up so he can storm Hong Kong and Hollywood soon.

That didn't stop Jet, Jackie, Arnold or any foreign guy from breaking into the biz. Thailand has been an up and coming powerhouse in the film industry the past several years so I don't see him going outside of that anytime soon. If he does come to Hollywood they'll just stick an English speaking straight man with him like Chris Tucker with Jackie, Jet with Jason Statham, DMX, Mel Gibson. One guy I wish had more mainstream work is Mark Dacascos. He can fight and also speak English. The only thing I don't like about Thai films is the jackie chan type stunts where people can, will and have gotten seriously hurt just for the sake of a film.

What the..?

Tony Jaa went missing before finishing the movie. His family says he's "meditating in the jungle" over the stress of producing and directing his first big movie (at $7mil, big for that country's film industry). The director of the first Ong Bak says he may be able to salvage the film with what's done (which almost never works), but hopefully Jaa can get it together. The movie's looking badass.
