Motown is a pretty obvious bunch to start with:
Marvin Gaye Smokey Robinson and the Miracles Stevie Wonder Jackson 5 The Supremes The Marvelettes Martha and the Vandellas Temptations Jimmy Ruffin David Ruffin Four Tops Tammi Terrell Gladys Knight and the Pips Jermaine Jackson Rick James Commodores That pretty much covers the range of sounds and the pre-80's era although there are obviously a huge host of other artists and plenty more on the motown label now which you wouldn't class as 'motown'. But yah. |
