It might be too early...
But what matches do you want to see happen at WrestleMania XXV? I just realised I have no clue what on earth SmackDown! could offer forth for their WWE Title match.

World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels - HBM returns as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble and wins it (somebody had this idea before me I forget who though). WWE Championship Triple H vs. Undertaker - Undertaker's biggest Wrestlemania challenge yet. Batista vs. John Cena - One of them will turn heel, I just don't know which one yet. Smart money is on Batista but it would be better creatively if Cena did. Randy Orton vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin Money In The Bank Jeff Hardy vs. Edge vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Evan Bourne vs. MVP Umaga vs. Big Show - Umaga face turn possibly? World Tag Team Championship Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kongston Michelle McCool/Mickie James/Candice/Kelly Kelly/Maria vs. Beth Phoenix/Natalya/Maryse/Katie Lea/Melina - I'd say Kelly Kelly will be in Playboy by then also. ECW Championship John Morrison vs. Matt Hardy SmackDown vs. ECW R-Truth vs. The Miz Last edited by Triple Naitch; 09-09-2008 at 11:15 AM. |

HHH vs Undertaker is the most likely match. Hasn't been done one on one for over 6 years.

I don't think that Haitch vs Taker should be for the title this time. Three years in a row that Taker has won the title at Mania, nah.
WHC Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels - writes itself, although I can't see Jericho carrying the title that long sadly. WWE Edge vs Jeff Hardy (TLC) - Edge wins the title off Triple H as a surprise returner in the Elimination Chamber at (insert PPV before WM here). Hardy wins the Rumble. John Cena, Rey Mysterio & Cryme Tyme vs Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase & Fat Carlito - Meh, keeps Cena out of the main event. MITB Evan Bourne vs Kofi Kingston vs MVP vs Batista vs Kane vs Brian Kendrick vs Paul London vs CM Punk - Having three of the biggies in here would build up MITb to more than just a mid carders playground. Title shots should be like free entry to Willy Wonka's factory and everyone should be after them when they are available. I'd have either Bourne or Kendrick win, and launch Dancing Dave into thoughts about whether a new order has arrived and whether he has a future in it. Triple H vs Undertaker - We've never really seen Haitch in a position where, as a face, he's threatened personally about any situation. Taker could kidnap Stephanie again, threaten his kids, bring out a side to Hunter that we've not really seen before. Taker could argue that HHH stole his spot that he worked for, by marrying into the McMahons. It could be (after thinking about it in my mind) awesome, if HHH can pull off that type of threatened acting that again, we've never really seen. The rest, the Playboy bunny shit, the Divas title, I don't really care about - so I don't really care. |

It is quite clear that everyone wants HBK vs Jericho. The thing I was thinking about having a multiple in the air ladder match. What I mean by that is you place not one, but two things in the air. On one chain, is the championship. On the other is Shawn Michaels career. The stipulation goes, that if HBK grabs his career or the title, then he stays. However for Jericho, he must choose between the two. If Jericho grabs the title, Michaels stays. But if he grabs the career of HBK, then HBK must retire. However then the World title is vacated. Then I would have the winner of the MITB, Jeff Hardy, cash in his briefcase right away, and he is the new Champ.
I know it's like really far fetched, and weird, but whatever |

I'm hoping we get Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship, with HBK winning his third Royal Rumble to earn the shot at WrestleMania XXV. While I much prefer Jericho, and think he has more years left in the tank, HBK going over would be a very nice face moment, and a big thank you for Michaels. In what could be a very cool moment, The Brian Kendrick could have won Money in the Bank earlier, and he cashes in right after this match and defeats his mentor to become World Heavyweight Champion and go 2-0 at WrestleMania.

As good as it has been, Michaels and Jericho can't keep the momentum going long enough to battle at WrestleMania, especially in a topline match when their feud has already seen them face each other countless times, in several deifferent match types.
I'm all for Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels, playing on the theme that Michaels ended the legendary career of Ric Flair at WrestleMania, he's "Mr. WrestleMania" and if anybody is the perfect man to end the legendary streak of The 'Taker, he could be, with Taker facing his biggest threat to the streak so far. Plus, both are Texans, both are WrestleMania legends, it's the 25th anniversary and crowd reaction would be amazing. This may be the only match (now they've spunked Cena v Batista) that could have that BIG match feeling to it. I'd rather it not be for a title, however. They could maybe build a Randy Orton vs Batista main event title match for Raw, and (naturally) Triple H will be involved on the SmackDown side, maybe against Jeff Hardy if he is popular enough (and not fired) at the time. |

Then again, if Hardy vs HHH takes place next month, then that will probably be too fresh in the memory to build as a Mania worthy main event.

I think Matt vs. Jeff could be a huge match if they let Matt keep the ECW title for that long. He could start taunting Jeff, who has been unsuccessful in his attempts to wrest the belt from HHH and brag that he was the first to be a World Champ, never wasted his opportunities, basically become Version 1.0 again.

I don't know what matches I'd like to see but you know what would be REALLY cool?
WWE Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Dave Batista. Special Guest Referee = Ric Flair. THAT would be fucking cool in my opinion...from both a storyline perspective AND a wrestling perspective. Batista would still hate HBK for retiring Flair, while there would be no love loss between Jericho/Batista or Jericho/HBK. To add further complicate things, Flair would go on record stating that he loved Batista and HBK equally....and claimed no bias. At Wrestlemania however, Flair does the unthinkable and helps Jericho win the match (and unexpectedly knocks out Michaels). After the match, champion Chris Jericho and Ric Flair stomp away on a fallen Batista! |

Heyman's current Wrestlemania Card:
I thought about this a little more, and here are some matches I'd like to see. There will probably end up being 9-10 matches, but I'm too lazy to think of them all. As result, I created 7 matches. Hope you enjoy! 7) Interbrand Match: John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Mr. Kennedy (if he's healthy....if not, then MVP gets the nod). 6) Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase Jr, and Manu vs. Cowboy Bob Orton, Dusty Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, and Manu's father (if he's still alive...if not, Rowdy Roddy Pipper). Randy Orton probably deserves something bigger on the card, but oh well. If Cena isn't back in time before Wrestlemania, then Orton can take Cena's spot (in the match against Austin). 5) MITB Match (TLC): Rey Mysterio vs. Evan Bourne vs. CM Punk vs. Edge vs. Matt Hardy vs. The Kendrick. High Flying spot-fest...with Brian Kendrick winning the match (and at this point, Tpww poster Noid gets a massive 4.16 inch erection ![]() 4) WWE Championship Match: Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy. In an unbelievable match, Jeff Hardy finally pulls through and defeats Triple H to finally win the WWE Championship. 3) Undertaker & Kane vs. Big Show, Umaga, and Great Kali Taker and Kane defeat Big Show, Umaga, and Kali. After the match, something strange happens. Taker grabs Kane and the lights go off. Weird druid music plays. On the titan tron, some little girls start singing. We then see an image (or an implication) that Undertaker's powers are being transferred to Kane. When the lights come back on, Taker is nowhere to be found....and Kane is unconscious. When EMT's and Ref's try to carry Kane off on a stretcher, Kane gets up and chokeslams everyone! Kane then goes off on a rampage to showcase his new found strength and powers. 3) Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. John Cena -Stone Cold Steve Austin challenges the new "top draw" in the modern era of the WWE. Austin starts off strong against Cena, but Cena slowly starts to take over. In the end however, Austin hits a lucky Stone Cold Stunner and wins the match. Cena tries to shake Austin's hand after the match, but gets another stunner! The crowd cheers. This pisses Cena off and he demands a rematch for next month (Cena goes over clean in the rematch). 2) Women's Title: Beth Phoenix vs. Melina -Filler match. Beth wins. I dunno. 1) World Heavyweight Championship: Chris Jericho vs. Dave Batista vs. Shawn Michaels. Special Guest Referee: Ric Flair. -Leading up the match, it is announced that Flair will be the referee for this main-event match. To make matters more intriguing, Flair claims that he loves both HBK and Batista equally...and will show no extra bias towards either man (at this point, everyone assumes that Flair doesn't love Jericho as much as he loves the other two guys). -Flair shocks the world by helping Jericho win the match (unexpected groin shot to HBK...allowing Jericho to capitalize). After the match, Jericho sits HBK up...Flair looks HBK in the eye, does a mock "I'm sorry", and hits Sweet Chin music on HBK. Flair and Jericho also stomp away on Batista. |

Slightly changed from the card I posted a few weeks ago. I think this would make for an awesome WrestleMania though...
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho (World Title 2 out of 3 Falls Match) The Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy (WWE Title Match) The Miz vs. John Morrison (ECW Title Match) Randy Orton vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin Triple H vs. The Big Show CM Punk vs. Edge (Hardcore Match) John Cena vs. Batisa Santino (w/ Beth Phoenix) vs. Mickie James (w/ Trish Stratus) (Women's Title Match) Kofi vs. MVP vs. Rey Mysterio vs. THE Brian Kendrick vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy vs. Evan Bourne (Money in the Bank) Cryme Tyme, Jesse, Festus & Primo Colon vs. Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, Carlito, Manu & Deuce Snuka |

I think it would make more sense for Flair to lock in the Figure Four and say "I'm sorry, I love you". I don't think Flair could have done SCM in his prime.

If we factor in Austin for a match at Mania, I'd still prefer to see the big Austin vs Hogan match, with Austin going over.
Whilst you might imagine the match would suck, WWE can really book an entertaining match with all the shortcuts when they need to, on a grand stage, and the spectacle of the match would overshadow the actual in-ring action (a la Rock/Hogan). It's one of the few dream matches that have never been seen on a big stage, and it would be a fitting tribute to Austin to go over Hogan in Texas at WrestleMania on his Hall of Fame weekend. There are many reason for it not to happen, and let's face it, it probably never will, but a WrestleMania with Austin vs Hogan and Taker vs Shawn would already be a strong card before even the title main events are taken into account. Also, it seems that the MITB is an annual tradition that's here to stay, so anyone hoping for a Michaels/Jericho ladder match is out of luck. It would be utterly pointless to promote two ladder matches on the same show (I mean, that would be like having, I dunno, two Elimination Chambers in one night... or three Scramble matches in one night... they'd never do it! It's overkill!)
Plus, a ladder match, unfortunatley, can be an exciting match but it hardly decides who is the better wrestler, does it? It just determines who can climb a ladder and grab the belt before the other. I don't mind ladder matches, but not as the WrestleMania title match. The WM match should always (IMO) be a one-on-one with a decisive winner, determined preferably by pinfall or submission to establish who was 'the better man'. A ladder match, excuse the pun, leaves too much up in the air. Plus HBK vs Jericho shouldn't last for another EIGHT months. I've enjoyed it but its already coming towards the end of its shelf life (not because its old in real time, but old in TV time... they have wrestled many times this year already, had several angles and a lot of promos). By WM, it would be stale and done, and WM shouldn't be headlined (again, IMO) by a match that's been seen already on PPV a dozen times within the last year. |

The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels is something I used to be in support of, but I don't know. I really do think Jericho and Michaels could have their feud carried through until WrestleMania. I mean, they really only need to get through the year before the Royal Rumble becomes the goal and puts the feud in auto-pilot. That's only three more months. Keep in mind that issues with Batista and CM Punk are not resolved yet.
Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy is something I've been thinking about, especially with Matt Hardy as a heel. Rob Van Dam returning for a special match with Matt Hardy could also be really cool, especially when you take RVD's WrestleMania streak into account. If Stone Cold Steve Austin chooses to wrestle a match at WrestleMania, as much as I hate to say it, I think John Cena would be a wise choice for his opponent. I'd also like to see the CM Punk vs. Randy Orton feud stretched to a WrestleMania encounter. |

Austin vs. Orton just seems too logical not to happen. I don't know.
I can't see Cena turning heel to feud with Austin and a face vs. face feud between the two would be HORRIBLE. |

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs Batista
World Champion Triple H vs Jeff Hardy Steve Austin vs Hulk Hogan The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels Chris Jericho vs CM Punk Edge vs MVP MITB: John Cena v The Brian Kendrick v Matt Hardy v Shelton Benjamin v Evan Bourne v D'Lo Brown v Big Show v Santino Marella World Tag Team Champions Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes vs WWE Tag Team champions John Morrison and The Miz Hmmm... not saying it's my dream card at all, just a few thoughts I threw together. I expect some kind of celebrity involvement too somehwere down the line, as has been the trend lately. Also, if the event is going to be a 5 hr show (as Mania XX was) then there will be several more matches than this. Edge could be another good choice to face Stone Cold if he wrestles at Mania. I'm thinking MVP could be face by then too and may have a mid-profile match to establish his face positioning. Shame I left JBL off my card, huh? Last edited by NeanderCarl; 09-11-2008 at 06:08 PM. |

id like to see something different as i get sick of seeing the same guys wrestling each other week after week.
Punk was shit on like mysterio when it came to his title run, however that said I dont think he is big enough when it comes to wrestling ppl like batista etc. So matches Id like to see are: Benjamin V Punk for the USA title Taker V Kozlov - its a realistic challange for him and if they keep him unbeaten then taker can be the first to beat him and keep his record. HHH V Ezekiel Jackson - lets see how good this guy is against HHH instead of picking up TBK's leftovers Gregory Helms V Kofi Kingston would be a good match but maybe just a house show rather than wrestlmania unless you throw Santino Marelli into the mix for the inter title. D-Lo Brown & Hass (think would make a good team) V Crime Time V Regal & Burchill V Dibiase & Rhodes in a fatal 4way for the tag titles. And how about finishing the night with an ECW match, an extreme rules Elimination chamber involving Matt Hardy V Mike Knox V Mark Henry V Finlay V Chavo V Ricky Ortiz. |

Why would you suggest a match for WrestleMania, and then opine that it may be better suited to a HOUSE SHOW??
So, it's not fit for No Way Out, or even SmackDown... only WrestleMania or a house show? That right there is the definition of "shit or bust", I guess. |

Beth v. Natalya could be a pretty great Women's Championship match. They've got plenty of time to figure out how to set it up too (my guess would be Nattie to Raw a little before the Rumble).

Yeh it is partially a joke card, much like the state of the full wwe roster at the minute but thought why not try someit different and try to get a few things going.
I said throw Santino into the match as it was the only way I could think of getting Helms V Kingston onto the wrestlmania card as think they could put on a good match but reason i said its more a house show is because itd never happen but if you take Kingston & Helms ad put ppl like Mysterio, Kendrick, London,Evan Bourne, Chavo & Evan Punk, you could make the cruiser weight division half decent & re-introduce that title. And the Idea behind the ECW extreme rules elimination chamber (ok maybe not end the night with it) was to, for a change, have an ECW match that might be worth watching! I liked ECW when they went to 'the extreme' before the WWE writers came in and made the 'Land of the Extreme' as they continually introduce it a pretty shit product. So my thinking was for them to use this as a chance to go back to the hard core style matches that gave ecw its name, and the guys i picked re ppl who are currently the best pick from a bad roster to be honest. And the fatal 4 way tag match is to try and get the tag divison back up and running, whats the pont of having the tag titles when there are no teams to compete for it. |

![]() What I'm thinking for the ladies, is some sort of Women's Champion vs. Divas Champion match, where the two ladies compete against each other. Right now, I'd lean with Beth Phoenix as Women's Champion against Gail Kim as Divas Champion (assuming she comes in). Another concept I'd like to see present, is a "Tri-Brand Trophy" or something like that. Each General Manager selects a wrestler from their brand to go into a Triple Threat where the winner proves their brand's "superiority" by actually winning something. Like Batista vs. Umaga last year, but with ECW involved, and something actually being decided. To be honest, I can pretty much get two-thirds of that match figured out right now. Representing RAW, Batista would be a wise pick, as he successfully represented SmackDown! the year before, and I wouldn't be able to think of anything better for him to do. From SmackDown!, you throw in Big Show, who is Vickie Guerrero's new enforcer. Then you just need someone from ECW. I'm thinking Finlay, just to not make it a hoss fess. Batista and Finlay have good chemistry together, and Show works in these kind of matches. Last edited by Mr. Nerfect; 09-14-2008 at 01:50 PM. |

I don't think I've discussed Money in the Bank yet. Some men pretty much have to be a lock for this match, in my opinion:
John Morrison vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Evan Bourne vs. The Brian Kendrick Can we confirm that much? Morrison and Benjamin are gold in these kinds of matches, and The Kendrick is in the position to enter these sort of bouts now, and he looked so comfortable on a ladder in that Armageddon Four-Way two years back. Bourne would just be so much fun in this. Without anything else obvious for them to do, I'd add Kane and Rey Mysterio to that list, just because they are former World Champions that could lend star power to the event, and they deserve a spot on the WrestleMania card. Let's say it's an eight-man match, and leave two more spots open. Kofi Kingston would rule in these sorts of matches, so let's throw him in there. The last spot could go to a number of different people. Chavo Guerrero would be alright in this sort of match, as would R-Truth, who is getting a push. Then you've got a guy like Paul Burchill who could very easily be adjusted for a push and would shine in something like this. Then there's the idea of giving someone a fairy tale push into the match. I'll just go with Kofi Kingston. Money in the Bank Ladder Match John Morrison vs. Evan Bourne vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Kane vs. Paul Burchill vs. Jamie Noble Add that on to: * Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship * Triple H vs. The Undertaker vs. Edge vs. Mr. Kennedy for the WWE Championship * CM Punk vs. Randy Orton * Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. John Cena * Batista vs. Finlay vs. Big Show for the WWE Tri-Brand Trophy * R-Truth vs. MVP for the WWE United States Championship * Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger for the WWE Intercontinental Championship * Chavo Guerrero & Gregory Helms vs. Carlito & Primo Colon vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins for the WWE Tag Team Championship * Beth Phoenix vs. Gail Kim in a Women's Champion vs. Divas Champion match * Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase & Manu vs. JBL & Cryme Tyme (JBL turns face) |
