Signs that you might be watching a little too much wrestling.

No, this isn't a dime a dozen list that you can cut and paste, or the list that I'm sure we all read that talks about hosting a monthly ppv with your action figures called "in your room" and other idiot things. I'm talking real life events that might be signs that you're watching too much wrestling.

My boss had a 15 foot ladder on the sales floor. He had to hang something up. I was just looking at it, and I went almost into a trance. My boss asked me what was on my mind. My answer was "I have some fond memories of people falling off ladders."

Everytime I see a folding chair I see a place to sit secondly, but first and foremost it's a weapon.

Every Monday I have a spring in my step. A lot of people don't know why. The weekend just ended, and everyone has "a case of the Mondays." Me, I'm happy as hell.

I've found myself quoting some wrestlers. "Sorry 'bout your damn luck."

At least 1/4th of my dvds are wrestling. It goes up to 1/3rd if you count the number of disks.

So, does anyone want to add anything onto this?

When you see somebody and your first though is a wrestling move. For instance... at work the other day one of the floor people were kneeling on the ground cleaning something and my first thought was kicking him in the head like orton.

When I was younger, I used to always wrestle with pillows. I used to always pretend to be the one that could take Mr. Hughes off his feet (he was in WCW at the time).

When i got a bit older, my stepbro hosted this KWF (Kids Wrestling Federation) backyard thing where we each took the persona of a WWF/E character and then did their gimmick, usually switching at times. We did this for a few years until everyone lost interest.

Me? I was Yokozuna, Sycho Sid, Owen Hart (I feel privilaged now to be able to use his persona now that I think about it. RIP, Owen), and Jeff Jarrett (who I decided to rename "Jeff "F'N" Jarrett", not realizing that I was foreshadowing what the Jarrett character would become in WCW and then TNA).

But yeah, we did some crazy shit with our obsession back then.

When people piss me off or annoy me I imagine standing up, walking past them calmly and then BAM, sweet chin music right to the fucking jaw. It makes me feel better sometimes.

I was up on a super tall ladder yesterday rigging up a 1K light on top of this building and all I could think about was Jeff Hardy's insane Swanton Bomb at WM2000.

There was a kid doing pushups like, in the grass in front of the school, trying to look all badass and "Rocky." I wanted to do the Orton-punt kick to his jaw.

I will still occasionally tell someone to "suck it."

I agree with that.

When somebody fucks up or makes an ass out of themselves at work or school or whatever, I'll often call them a "jobber" or say that they "jobbed out."

We were talking about Two-Face and if he made a good villain in TDK, and I said "he really believes what he's doing, which makes him the perfect heel." and they're all like "heel?"

I use "Mark/ed Out" pretty frequently.

The "Kennedy" thing is pretty engraved in me now. Anytime the name is mentioned I at least think of "...Kennedy".

LOL at LC calling his dog "Dean Malenko". I think if I ever get a male dog I'm going to call him that.

I'll be playing a soccer sim on the 360 and when the commentator mentions Kennedy I just have to bellow....

To add to my last post, when my wife and I got married back in Sept 2006 and they did the intros at the reception, we came out to Ric Flair's theme and both raised our 4 fingers as we walked in.

Only a few folks got it. We had more people asking why we used a song from 2001: A Space Odyssey

I do that all the time. I also pose in doorways, say Kennedy twice (Kennedy) and do superstar entrances when I play an existing theme.

I remember back in grade school for field day they had something called the high jump, which basically what you do is see if you can clear the bar, at the time I was a huge RVD fan and still am, I looked at the people watching me and did RVD's signature thumbs Rob-Van-Dam taunt and proceeded to attempt the high jump, I didn't make it but anyways.

Ok. How about when someone you live with or work with says WHOOOOOOO!...you have to say the line...."Nobody says WHOOOOOOOO around here except me!" and then procede to get in a "WHOOOOOOOOO-off" for about 5 minutes til someone steps in....

Terminology mainly. Jobber, mark, kayfabe, gimmick etc are part of everyday language. I seem to notice 3:16 more than I notice other times. Looking up certain song lyrics, movie quotes etc that would make good promo lines, slogans etc. Fighting the urge to act like a drunken, loonatic 2nd rate Edge when I hear 'Metalingus' in a club. Chopping people. Headlocking people. Shouting 'wrestling' at random times (private joke) A lot of girls are apparently rats. Listening to the intro's of certain songs like 10 times to see if it would make decent entrance song. General wrestling hand-gestures in pictures (Horseman, Triple Threat, MCMG etc) Throwing air clotheslines walking from my room to the kitchen. List could go on and on

Here's one I used to do with the guys (I didn't have female friends) back in the days. We'd got around the mall rating chick on a Diva scale. We look at a chick and go "Danm you see her, she's about a Victoria." "Nah, more like a Ivory"

No matter what type of show or movie I'm watching I'm waiting for soemone get interrupt while talking or jumpped from behind. Also during fight scenes I start yelling out wrestling moves. I mark out anytime I see a wrestling move in a movie.

I am going to tell a story and it's completely true.

In 8th grade I was the Student Body President and was in charge of booking the line-up for the Spirit Assemblies with the Spirit Commissioner. One of the things I decided to book was a "KING OF THE MAT TOURNAMENT."

We put up this HUGE flyer in the common room that listed all of the wrestlers' names in these brackets with an equals sign to a huge outline of a guy with a crown on his head.

All of the wrestlers started in the larger circle on the mat and the point was to try to push each other out of it. When you went out, you were eliminated. The last 2 guys would face each other in a straight fall/points to win match immediately following the elimination of the third to last man.

This kid won, amazing wrestler (he won state like every year he was in high school), and then we moved on to another segment.

At the end we had a Crowning Coronation ceremony. The winner walked down this long red carpet while the school band played an amazing tune. He sat in a chair and we put the crown on his head.

Then the second place winner came out to "IF YA SMELL..." and everybody went nuts. He walks up and grabs the microphone out of my hand and shoves me down. He tells the winner that he doesn't deserve that crown and he should give it to him. The winner stands up and knocks him out with the crown.

It was amazing.

Sounds like during the Era where wrestling was cool and everybody watched.
