Discuss, can a smaller wrestler be a "monster"?

I was looking at that dropped gimmick for Hade Vansen, and I was wondering do you think that someone who isnt over 6ft 6 tall and 300 plus pounds be a monster/ evil character in the WWE? I was suprised that not many people thought of The Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan when they think of evil/ monster wrestlers. He wasnt very physcially imposing, but the way he portrayed the Taskmaster gimmick I still liked it. So I wantd to ask, in the WWE can you be a physcially smaller guy, and try to be passed of as a dark, evil wrestler?

Yeah. Well, he wasn't "dark and evil" but Taz was always a monster in the ring, although more in ECW. I'm not quite sure if you're looking for a small guy who's a monster/badass in the ring, or an actual evil person.... The only evil person that springs to mind s Waylon Mercy, but he wasn't really successful. And there was evil Doink. Honestly though, if you're looking as evilness, has WWE really had that many evil characters period?

Oh, there was Raven, who never really made it anywhere in the WWE.

I think so. In fact, I think it would work quite well. Taz does spring to mind. So does, Rhino, who yes, is built like a tank, but is way under height for your regular monster.

Kevin Sullivan was the ORIGINAL evil wrestler.

Also, Waylon Mercy was hamstringed more by being broken down than by not getting over. It was a great character, but his back was fucked.

Rhyno could have been booked better. I think the neck injury fucked him up more than anything else. He was on a monsterous roll as part of the Alliance. Even so far as beating the Rock in a Six Man.

Paul Burchill's got his moments, especially with that curb stomp. I mean, he's not really small, but he's certainly not Undertaker or Kane sized.

Now, how often WWE will actually allow a smaller wrestler to be booked like that... well, you know that story.

I've always wanted to see a smaller guy put over as a monster. I'd love to see them take a small guy (like Nunzio's size) and play him up as a real ruthless submission specialist, a guy who likes to tear people apart. Put him in a feud with a big guy (IE Batista) and consider them equal because the smaller guy is faster, more agile, and has better technical knowledge.

Never ever happen of course, but I think it'd be cool.

Something like that could be great for Jamie Noble. All you have to do is bring back "The Pit Bull" character, and let Noble wrestle.

KING: "619! 619!"

KING: "He already took out Mickie James and Lillian Garcia the past two weeks! Who's next?"

COLE: "This Rey Mysterio is a damn monster!"

I consider the Minnesota Wrecking Crew to be monsters. They were big men for their day, but nothing of the level of the Road Warriors or of most modern big men. Their psychology made them monsters: you could see them ripping peoples arms off left and right.

Not literally, I hope.

I actually think Dolph Ziggler could do a "smaller monster" gimmick. He seems to be somewhat doing a gimmick where if someone doesn't shake his hand before a match, he loses it.

Speaking of ziggler, is his gimmick still meant to be pornstar orientated (dirk diggler) or has that been kicked in the head? He could go around shaking peoples hands then inform them all a few weeks later that he was just jerking off with that hand before he came out. instant evil monster.

the whole ripping people's arms off is just part of the hyperbole and the aura that surrounded Ole and Gene, and later Ole and Arn.
