AMD's Vs intel
Basically I need a minimum of a 2.8 Ghz processer, cos my board is old, it's basically a new board and CPU I need.
As I'm too lazy/dumb to know what will work best with each other, i'm was going to get a pre built bundle package. I've found 2 on cclonline. Ones got a Core 2 Duo E4500 / 2x2.20GHz The other AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (2x3.0 Ghz) Now I've only ever used AMD's before and I assumed as they are both dual core and the AMD one would be the better choice, but a mate is telling me that the intel one used newer technology, so even though it's a lower Ghz, it's will work better than the AMD umm, yeah. Help? There's no difference in the price, I just want to get the better performing chip. THE OPTIMISTS! 'Seeing the light in bad booking' Current members: Dave Youell Alienoid06 Impact! No, I lied. I'd go with a Core 2 Quad.

I'd just go with the AMD just because it fulfills your criteria.
The E4500 would be better if you like to overclock. But if anything, spend a little more and find a package that includes the E6600 Core 2 Duo. |

I am an AMD man, myself. I have had intel before though and never had any troubles. Still, I prefer AMD.

I used to before the Core Duos came out and now Intel gives you more performance for your cash.
Still running an AMD here despite that though ![]() |

The last time I was at Best Buy my friendly neighborhood computer guy told me, "Yeah, AMDs are good on desktops, but on laptops they just aren't 'there' yet." AMDs were a bit cheaper at the time, so I don't know if he was bullshitting me or not to get me to go with the more expensive product. This was last summer. I did not buy a comp from Best Buy.
WAS THIS BULLSHIT TO MAKE ME BUY THE MORE EXPENSIVE COMP, OR WAS IT TRUE AT THE TIME? |
