Should he ever be in the Hall of Fame? (Warrior)
So I've asked questions about people who have maybe havent had a "Rick Flair" like accomplishments like Brooklyn Brawler or someone like Goldberg who didnt have a long run in the WWE but what do you think about the Ultimate Warrior? He was a former world champ but he really didnt do much as far as backstage like Brawler did or was the main draw of another company like DDP or Goldberg. I was looking back at some of his "promos" and I dont think anyone knew what he was saying (including him). So do you think that the Ultimate Warrior should ever get into the WWE hall of fame or not? |

Considering who WWE does put in, yes. Easily.
If it were a "legit" Hall of Fame, no. |

The gimmick and the impact it had on it's era deserves HOF honors. The person doesn't deserve the honor though. He should be put in after death. It sounds harsh, but it's true.

Savage needs to go in next year. There's really no question about it. I hope the dvd and seemingly increasing mention of his career is indication of improved relations.
If Warrior goes in before Savage, it just isn't right. |

Yeah he became a weirdo talk-circuit guy later on in his life, but his TIME in the company is definitely worthy of hall of fame status. He was incredibly over in his time, inspired thousands of fans and had one of the most legendary matches in history (against Hogan at WM V).

He doesn't seem to be a very good human being. This isn't just a statistical achievement, since wrestling doesn't have any real tangible numbers or statistics. Integrity and respect among peers and the industry is important. The HOF is an honor, earned through respect as well ass accomplishments. Honor and respect is a huge part of the business, and I'm afraid Warrior the man doesn't have very much.
As I said, the gimmick has much more. At least from fans. It's success is undeniable. So I don't know how I feel. I just don't think he deserves the satisfaction. Maybe down the line. |

He may be an asshole, but he has respect. He may be a snake, but he doesn't make insanely offensive comments about parapalegics.
Hogan has done his share of shit in his day, but he hasn't burnt all his bridges and destroyed any shred of respect he had. Hogan just isn't the black stain on wrestling that Warrior is. If Hogan is A-Rod, Warrior is Jose Canseco. |

Actually, when taking into account Hogan's recent drama with his son and his friend/the accident, maybe I should take back that parapalegic thing.
Hogan is a big asshole. He's an even bigger one now. But he's already in. Either way, I think Warrior is a different case |

I would say it was a combination of the right place, right time, and right person, but his constant absence from the scene was probably the biggest factor in keeping him over. He always left the fans wanting more. If he had stayed around I think a lot of the novelty would have worn off and this wouldn't even be a question. The man was all gimmick. Hell, when he went to WCW they let him sit at home on his ass because they knew that. His "career" was little more than a man in face paint running around yelling and pressing people (sometimes dangerously) and it proved to be exciting, so they cashed in on it quickly. But definitely not HoF worthy.

Personally I say no. He was really memorable and had a great run, but he also screwed fans over time and time again with his selfishness. he could've been an even bigger star than what he was if he would've just worked and didn't demand more money all the time. And let's face it, as a wrestler, he was just awful. To me someone like Sid deserves to go before him, and Sid in my mind isn't HOF worty.

To be honest though, if you put Warrior in you have to put in Goldberg, Brock and any other monster who was pushed to the moon for a year, and then dropped off sharply/completely.
It's a slippery slope. |

Goldberg should be included for how big a part he played in WCW's success against the WWF at the height of the biggest boom in wrestling history. He wasn't just another guy thrown into the mix, he was a character that people truly got behind and forced him to become the top guy. Something like the Streak will probably never happen again. I still mark for Goldberg's matches from back in the days. He deserves his spot.

Ultimate Warrior does deserve to go in, because he's just one of those big names. Yes, he may be a crazy asshole, but I think that should only slow down his induction -- not eliminate it completely. |

I think eventually they're going to get hungry for stars and induct all of these guys. They seem to like inducting one main eventer, and a handful of uppermidcarders every year.
Eventually, they're going to go through all of the big main eventers and they're going to turn to Savage, Warrior and Goldberg. In the end, what does the best business wins. After this years induction, who will be next? Michaels, HHH and Taker are all active. The Rock? Then who? Foley? I think he deserves it but he's in TNA and he's still active. Same goes for Angle. So yea, eventually we're going to see these guys get in. |

I actually think that Vince McMahon could go in next year as the "big name" going in.
