Is he worth keeping around? (Dolph Ziggler)
So he's becoming one of the major jobbers of Raw and I was wondering is Dolph Ziggler worth keeping around? I liked his work with the spirit squad (thought he was one of the better members) and he put on some good matches against Batista and R Truth but I think his gimmick is really holding him back. His gimmick is actually kinda like Dan Spivey's "Waylon Mercy" character (it was based off of Max Cady in cape fear) and he would shake his opponents hand and smile before the match but brutually attack them with there back turned. Dan's character showed alot of depth and thought behind it, Ziggler just shakes hands and smiles. Can this character be salvaged? Should they take him off and repackage him? Should they call Mickey and/ or Mitch back and make them into a tag team again (maybe without the cheerleader gimmick)? Or is he just gonna get a "wish well in future endeavours"?

First of all, Dolph Ziggler is NOTHING like Waylon Mercy. Nothing.

Secondly, I think he's a pretty solid talent, but I don't see him amounting to much more of a jobber with the treatment he has received. It doesn't really hurt to have some talented jobbers around, so I say keep him for now, and maybe he'll somehow luck his way into a storyline. I thought he worked a decent match with Rey on Monday, btw.

ziggler is ok. I say keep him, I'd like to see him and Santino get into a decent storyline

The gimmick was good. It caught on quick and people remembered him (obviously). The problem is they don't seem to be going anywhere with it. Gimmick or no gimmick, that's the problem with a lot of their new guys. They go to all this trouble to bring them in, push them for a little bit, and then have no idea what to do with them. It's as if it doesn't involve a title chase the writers are completely flustered and the character dies, which is probably what will happen to Ziggy.

I say keep him. He's not bad in the ring, and for a new guy he's way more over than Bob Holly was for most of his career.

They need jobbers, so yes. He's a decent worker who can be used as an enhancement talent. That may require an IC title run, which would be okay in my book.

I think Dolph Ziggler is very talented. His match with Batista, where he more than held his own, was impressive, and made me mark out (because I'm not a big Big Dave fan). Since then, he's done a whole lot of nothing, though.

The guy has a fantastic look. He's got some good wrestling skills to his name, and he doesn't seem to be bad at playing a character. Ziggler can grow into something. I think he should have gone over Jeff Hardy on RAW, with some help from Matt Hardy, so he has a win he can ride for a bit.

A feud with Charlie Haas would be absolutely great.

He reminds me of a young Curt Hennig before he hit his stride. Athletic, cocky, a good look... not the worker Hennig was of course, but then hell, how can I even say that until we've seen him have any kind of lengthy competitive match?

Dolph had potential until he was suspended. He lost all momentum and never recovered. He could be good if you put him under someones wing. Maybe if we get Mattitude again he can be a Mattitude follower.

There are so many wrestlers with wasted potential and Vince is jsut focusing on every oversized muscle head. Like right now what the hell is going on witht he mid card. Dolph has the power and speed to go somewhere and do something. But vince lets size and look out weigh ability.

If your big and look like you use steroids but can't wrestle for shit you go straight to the tp. Vince only really likes to use guys who stick to th same routine. Like Batista, Triple HHH and John Cena. Thos guys never mix up there style at all. Its boring Dolph could be something great but vince is holding everyone down its retarded.

I loved his in ring debut.

I'd say he's worthwhile enough to keep around. he's pretty young and can only really improve at this stage in his career. However, WWE either has plans for someone or they don't. Most the guys WWE doesn't know how to use get released.

I'd keep him around for a bit, give him some programs/angles and see how he does over a few short years.
