Dark Match:

- William Regal beat Dolph Ziggler.

RAW, Airing Tonight:

- Chris Jericho cuts a promo about what he’s done in the WWE over the past year on Raw. Ricky Steamboat comes out - he thinks he has one more match in him. Jericho runs down Steamboat and says he’s past it and challenges him to a match at Backlash this Sunday. Jericho vs. Steamboat is on.

- John Cena comes out. Vickie Guerrero is not at Raw tonight, neither is Edge. Cena vs. Jericho looks set for later tonight.

- Chavo Guerrero cuts a promo thanking Vickie for drafting him over to Raw. Chavo vs. Batista is up next. Its over in in seconds after a Batista Bomb. Chavo apologises to Vickie for losing. Batista returns and hits another Batista Bomb.

- Shane McMahon is shown backstage talking to Batista about Backlash this Sunday.

- CM Punk beat Kane. They botched the finish and did it again. EDIT: Not confirmed this yet from the Arena, but I’m guessing this is taped for Superstars.

- Santino cut a promo saying sorry to his ’sister’ Santina about her having to kiss Khali on Smackdown. Beth and Rosa come out and say he has to go through with the kiss.

- Melina beat Beth Phoenix to retain the Women’s Title.

- John Cena vs. Chris Jericho is up next. Really good TV match which went close to 30 minutes. Cena won via DQ when Edge hit the ring. He laid Cena out with a chair before cutting a promo about how he’ll be the last man standing at Backlash, finishing by counting to ten while Cena was laid in the ring. I wonder how pissed fans at the Smackdown house show will be that Edge isn’t there tonight.

- Big Show beat Rey Mysterio.

- Edge vs. Cena was announced as the dark match once Raw is over. Triple H and John Cena vs. Edge and Randy Orton had been advertised if I remember correctly.

I feel as though a lot of posters, who have been here a while, resent you for being a new cornerstone of this place. I think when that whole thing was brewing the ball was in your court to bite, and it would have escalated very quickly if you did. You didn't though, because you probably just don't care about that shit, which is awesome.

Didn't they do this last year in England with Michaels and Cena?

Fair do's that was a good match for Cena, but that's only cos Michaels can get a good match out of anyone. But wtf. Why do they only do it here in England? Is it cos Vince thinks English fans "respect" wrestling more due to the "history in grappling here" - cos tbh, I think the current audience is the same as anywhere in the world. But granted, I'm all for classic "more than 5 min" wrestling matches.?

Why did CM Punk defeat Kane?.......on raw?

WWE are morons.

On that note - I truly hope that the WWE do not piss away CM Punk this year as they did with Jeff Hardy this past year. CM Punk is one of the few guys in the WWE that is legitimately over as a face...by being himself. To be over as a top tier face is a HUGE novelty in today's WWE.

The WWE better not fuck this up.

On an unrelated note - I hope the WWE keep Santino as a heel (on paper) even if the guys continues to garner massive face pops from the crowd. This is what the WWE should have done with Kurt Angle but they fucked it up.

The draft should take effect immediately. By the way, they announced that the main event of SmackDown! this week would be Big Show vs. The Undertaker. Yeah, Big Show is not meant to be there anymore.

I think because it's taped when it's in the UK they put on some long matches to make the internet crowd tune in if they hear that there was a good match.
